Doesn't anyone wave anymore?

I wish it was, but the pages and pages of bickering about waves and ducks paint a different picture. Lots of folks dumping out their purses here over something that SHOULD be so simple.

Yeah, I look at it from a real different aspect. The Jeep lifestyle draws a lot of different people. And there are a lot of various things these owners enjoy about and with their Jeeps. Waves, absolutely free. Ducks, you either cycle your collection, or you buy some to share. I don't see anywhere any Jeep owner is harmed or hurt. Other than their feelings for someone taking the time to wave at them, or letting them know them being a Jeep owner is appreciated via a free duck. Kinda makes you take a step back to see where the actual problem is.

Eh. I wave at all the jeeps I see. I’m new to Jeep with the JL generation, and I know it’s likely different than what it was way back in the good old days, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to let other stupid people affect how I choose to try and be a positive Jeep person. I’m a patriot, I drive a Jeep cause I like it, and if I see another, I’d like to think there’s a common bond in there somewhere.

I saw a JK the other day that had a vanity plate that said "DONTWAV". Like, not only does he not wave, and not want you to wave, but he's willing to pay an extra $100 a year on his car registration to make sure people don't wave to him. Ranks right up there with the folks I see on this forum and elsewhere who fall just short of threatening violence against those who put a rubber ducky on their door handle.

A bunch of "get off my damn lawn" types owning Jeeps these days. People need to lighten up. Owning a Jeep is supposed to be fun, so let people have their fun.

When we first got the jeep my wife thought it was silly to wave, but now she gets on my case if I miss one especially if she saw them waving at us. I'm all for trying to spread a smile here and there as there's a lot of stressful shit in the world and we all could use even a small break from it from time to time.

Well certainly, I wave to every jeep that I see. I was throwing an occasional wave to a few broncos too until one of them flipped me the bird, I didn't appreciate that.

I catch myself waving at Jeeps when driving my wife’s X5. No one has waved back… and I thought it was me.

I try to always wave. As a matter of fact I have to catch myself not to wave when I'm in one of my other (non Jeep) cars.

Depends on the plate - $40 for my black personalized, I wanted black so that is my “justification”, the “Yosemite” ones my wife squandered ~ $78 a year for 16 years giving Ca an extra ~ $1248 that were on the 4R was a complete waste of money, uh, unlike my needed “black” ones. . Ca has quite a menu of extra cost plates to sucker you into paying extra.

heck— 40 bucks is such a small percentage increase on Ca’s confiscatory $880 registration fee anyway. …. See — I can justify

Yeah, it really takes em off guard when you subconsciously do it in a tractor trailer, but it really surprises em, when you toss em a duck from a tractor trailer

I’ve gotten Waves and Smiles from it though, and that is the point in doing it

Yeah, there are still kids who do the arm pump, wanting me to toot the air horn for em, and I’m still kid enough, to enjoy it as much as they do

I was going to a meeting after work today and the first two Jeeps going the other way initiated the wave (I reciprocated). Didn’t expect it, but made my day.

Maybe someone should start a conversation and post a picture of the Personalized Plates that are Jeep related. The Corvette and Porsche Forums that I am a member of did this some years ago.
