Put on my ASFIR oil pan skid today. I thought things werent lining up right but it all pulled together nicely. 19mm, 18mm, and 13mm is all it takes. Very happy with it, installed in about 35 minutes. I won't need heavy protection so I went with the aluminum.

Nice thread, unfortunately for me, every time I clicked someone's link for an oil pan skid plate, they did not make one for the diesel. :(

First and best investment were rocksliders for my first jamboree. By the second I installed the ASFIR engine, transmission and 48v battery skidplates for my 21' eTorque. Easy install and great coverage. Nice and light weight.

?this.

FWIW, I’m still on factory skids, and ran my last rig on factory skids without issue as well. I wouldn’t expect you to have any issues out in the San Juan tails.
I’m planning a trip to the San Juan Mountains in September. I plan to stay on the easy and moderate trails only (Alpine Loop, Yankee Boy Basin, California & Corkscrew Gulches, Ophir & Hurricane Passes, and the easy and moderate portions of Black Bear). Am I good with just the stock skids on my 2018 Sahara JLU (no lift or big tires)?

You should be good. The most important thing to remember is the expensive stuff is down the middle of the Jeep. Run rocks over before you try and and straddle the rocks. You can always just avoid them too by driving around them if possible.

I hate to give a blanket yes, but you'll be fine. Those trails are well within the capability of a stock wrangler.

Are there portions of Black Bear that are more than moderate? I'm pretty sure it's simply scary AF for those that aren't fans of heights.

The entire thing can easily be done in 2wd. All the guides over rate the trails in that area for some reason. Even poughkeepsie Gulch only has 1 actual obstacle and it can be bypassed easily.
