Since doing the auxiliary bypass several months ago on my 2018 JLU Sahara which came with a H7 battery, Iāve noticed a short static sound (perhaps lasting a second or less) coming from the speakers when the engine restarts. Once the engine is going, the radio is back to normal. This doesnāt...
Thereās a 400-mile plus trail called The Flint Hills Adventure Route that takes you through the flint hills of Kansas. Itās all on gravel and dirt backroads, some of which are not maintained. Iāve been on a portion of it, but my goal is to do it all sometime in my life. Check it out on Facebook.
I did the radio reset twice and the speakers still makes a popping sound on occasion when the engine restarts at a stoplight. I recently updated to the newest version of Uconnect so I wonder if it has anything to do with that? In any event, Iāll keep trying to remember to press the ESS shutoff...
I did the auxiliary bypass a month ago and had no problems immediately afterwards. The ESS worked as normal. About a week ago I noticed the radio would sometimes make a popping sound when the engine restarted at an intersection. I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue. Will this damage...
I have a GPCA cargo cover and use a telescoping broom handle across the end to keep it from sagging down. To light the area beneath, I zip-tied a cheap Harbor Freight headlamp to the handle.
Iām updating from version 39.6 and had the same Error 20 message that others have gotten. I downloaded the software update onto my Mac and then to a 32GB FAT32 thumb drive. The radio screen states that no media files are found on the thumb drive. Do the files below look right? Could it have...
Iāve had my JLU just over five years. My first auxiliary battery lasted three years and I replaced both batteries at the same time. I did the auxiliary battery delete mod the other day so Iām now only using the main battery. The ESS works the same as before and there have been no warnings on the...
I installed a plastic-covered sheet of polyfill fiber over the vents like AC77 suggested in Post 31 and the rattle is now gone! The vents no longer function, but I can live without them. Thanks AC77 for the suggestion!
Thanks for the reply! Iāll give it a try. I have some leftover carpet that may work the same as the wool pads. I donāt see a way for these to get wet and moldy, unless Iām missing something.
This is an old thread and I hope The Wingman and Fudgepoop are still around and can tell me what they did to solve this tailgate vent rattle. My rattle began immediately after having the hinge corrosion repaired on the tailgate (as well as all four doors, hood, and front fenders). My tailgate...
Purchased mine in Sep. 2018 and it now has about 48K miles on it. Other than the corrosion issue, itās been relatively trouble free. Corrosion was found on the four doors, hood, tailgate, and the front quarter panels.
I should have been more clear in what I stated. My intent wasnāt to dismiss all college degrees. I followed my passion, graduated with a BS and MS in civil engineering, found my dream job with a great company, and benefitted greatly from it. The issue I have is universities pushing degrees that...
I completely agree with this articleā¦ college grads (in general) make substantially more than those without, but it all depends on their major. My BS and MS degrees in civil engineering were certainly worth my investment of time and money.
I saw on the news one day a reporter interviewing a...
It was weird for me at first to not work, too. It was somewhat as a shock to me to go from working 60+ hours/week to nothing when I retired. Since I was generally in the office all day, I was totally surprised by the number of people running around during the day Monday thru Friday. Why werenāt...
I retired at the age of 55 after working 30 years 7.5 months for a very successful employee-owned engineering firm here in Kansas City. My advice to anyone entering the workforce is to start saving early, live within their means, pay off the house and cars ASAP, and marry someone like-minded. If...
