have never seen it come up in our MY24.
I took my 2024 392 out for a spin today. Had Android Auto mapping a destination. Saw a red box-looking ambulance with lights just a-flashing to beat the band in my rear view mirror but it was back a ways. I pulled over anyway and waited. I never got any notification of any kind but would it only happen if I was in motion and with the ambulance closer to me? I guess I don't know what criteria trigger the notifications. In any case, I don't think I've yet heard such notifications.

In early 2022 and thereafter, over-the-air Uconnect software updates, updated our UConnect systems.... those updated vehicles,(2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 JL's) , then had a newer Uconnect System.... a UConnect system that would receive alerts when they were near an emergency vehicle that is actively responding to an emergency.

With that said.... 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and early model year 2022 vehicles, that for whatever the reason, never received the UConnect update..... whether done by the factory, by a dealer Tech, or received over-the- air ... or by the vehicle owner doing a UConnect update .... will not have a vehicle that is Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) ready.

JL's leaving the factory say after mid model year 2022, left the factory with a UConnect system that is Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) ready...

Anyway, it's a UConnect related diddy, lets call it.

Many here have found that they stopped the EVAS alerts somehow, when disabling Travel Alerts with either JSCAN or a Tazer JL.

I know my 2018 JL, which is updated to Uconnect 40.1, does not get the Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) alerts thanks to my turning off Travel Alerts with JSCAN.

It did get a couple of EVAS alerts... but then I originally did the deed with a Tazer JL.... it was bye bye to the EVAS alerts... .... A year or so later, I unmarried my Tazer JL but then disabled Travel Alerts with JSCAN so as not to get Traffic Alerts and or EVAS alerts.

For those that have a Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) ready JL that have not experienced an a EVAS alert... well, you just have not been in a region where the alerts are a thing lets say...

.
For 8.4" systems only?

My 2021 had some OTA update and I starts to get this in 2024. Annoying AF, it stays there forever you have to touch the screen to make it go away.

These alerts are annoying AF. I live close to a hospital (within in mile) and within a fire station (1/4 mile). I get these alerts daily and most of the time I never see the emergency vehicle that is supposedly putting out the signal. Or if I do see the emergency vehicle in question, their lights are even on. Which is bullshit because I don't need to be on the look out for that.

All in all a stupid "feature" that I wish could be disabled with JScan.

ADAPTATION ---> Radio user settings --> SDAR Travel Link Feature Present On/Off--> Target Value = Deactivated

I still get these alerts (Road closed ahead, Emergency Vehicle, etc.).

I wouldn't be mad if the alert wasn't the most ear shattering, panic inducing chime as if I am 5 feet from hitting a brick wall. Haven't tried anything else yet. Just living with it until someone else either discovers a fix or if it's a Tazer only thing.

Has anyone found a way to fully disable these? Are Jscan/Tazer solutions holding?

I saw a reply from JeepCares on another forum that said they could help, and I messaged them.
I got directed to call Uconnect General Support who had no clue what I was talking about but transferred me to SiriusXMGuardian, stating that even though I don't have a Guardian account, they handle connected services.

Well, Guardian understood the service but do not control it and have no ability to assist, directing me to ask a dealership to plug in and disable it. Have not pursued this route yet...

I live a half a block from a busy fire station, in a busy metro area. I need this to go away.
Just resurrecting this one, (I had lost access to my account for a while) and now back to report that JeepCares did in fact remotely disable this for me after a private chat through this forum. Have not had an alert since, despite proximity to a busy fire station. Thanks JC!

Either not on the 24s or it has not taken off here in PA. Never even heard of it to put it on our equipment.
It's in my 24 and active. I always enjoy learning an emergency vehicle drove past me 60 seconds ago.

What have I been saying?

5-in screen don't have this problem!

5-in screen don't have updates!

5-in screen has been perfect since purchase!

5-in screen don't have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay!

5-in screen has a compass which is cool to look at but pretty much worthless (Just like it should be)!!!

Issue here is the technology. It's not your friend, stop buying it and they'll stop making it!

even worse than the emergency vehicle alert is the "lane closure ahead" alert. It's like "um, yeah, I can see it but thanks"

Disabling Travel Alerts with either a Tazer JL or with JSCAN will stop alerts.

With JSCAN:

Disable Travel Link:

ADAPTATION
---> Radio user settings --> SDAR Travel Link Feature Present On/Off--> Target Value = Deactivated

--------------------------------------------------------------------

With a Tazer JL .... In radio sub menu, chose disable "TravelLnkā€ >enable/disable SiriusXM TravelLink
I disabled using my jscan and still get them! 😔

I deactivated mine a few years ago. Seems to have worked on my 2018 JLUR 8" Unconnect.

I live in a densely populated area and maybe get an alert per month. When one does go off, the emergency vehicles usually come flying by within 5–15 seconds. You only get them when you are in their immediate area. Bottom line, for me at least, the system seems worthwhile if it occasionally gets an otherwise distracted driver to pay attention.

I appear to be the only person in this thread who isn’t annoyed by the alerts.

Conversely, there’s been a lot of public outrage over a Waymo supposedly delaying an emergency vehicle. I mention that because, while the Waymo angle made it clickbait-worthy, I suspect plenty of human drivers do the exact same thing every day. The difference is that without the Waymo angle, it’s not considered sensational enough to make the news.

That said, I’ve only personally seen three types of vehicles using the system: fire trucks, ambulances, and EMT units. The OP mentioned tow trucks, construction vehicles, and roadside assistance vehicles, where there clearly aren’t life-saving implications. It sounds like some states may be a little too loose in allowing access to emergency transponders. THAT they need to rein in, but let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I have a 2025. Guess it needs to be updated. Still waiting for the in-motion nav disable to be updated too
