Not sure why Jeep failed to recognize there can be a passenger doing things with UConnect but they did. Do any of the aftermarket programmers like the Tazer allow disabling this? I mean a passenger can't enter an address for nav, or even pair a phone while in motion. It's really very dumb of Jeep.

I don’t think it’s included in the Tazer list of options, I didn’t notice it while looking through at least.

Pretty standard safety concern on infotainment systems though, it’s the same on the fords and Hondas I’ve used since you really can’t trust people.

as far as nav I use CarPlay with my phone and just use voice commands. Does the jeep nav package have a voice command option like that?

Yes, the Tazer has an option to disable and allow an address to be entered by the passenger while driving.

Fantastic, can you pair a phone while driving too?

I think so, but I do want to disable the not in motion thing if possible. Like last night, me and some buddies played disc golf. On the way home one wanted to pair his phone so he could play a concert. I had to exit the freeway and stop at a gas station to pair a phone. It was just very annoying.

Not sure about that. As far as I know, there is not an option that affects phone pairing on the Tazer. You can download the user manual from Z-Automotive website that will show you everything it will do.

Seriously?

How often do you pair a phone? Once every four years...?

Frustrating but this isn't any different that any other vehicle I have owned with the exception of my Cadillac XT4. The Caddy does recognize a passenger and the GPS to be used while in motion.

If they didn't have this IPF (Idiot Protection Feature) there would be a ton of lawsuits from idiots that crashed while driving and playing with the GPS

I realize other cars do this too. I was just hoping, with all the mods for Jeep, that maybe there's a way to just disable the 'not while in motion' thing entirely. Thanks.
