What happens when you receive this alert? Is it audible, something on the screen or what?

Man - this freaking EVAs thingy is BEEPING when there are NO emergency vehicle in action nearby. And its driving me crazy. Also I am already focused when I am driving and that forking loud beeps are distracting me.

I live very close to New York Shitty (sorry - I am really UNABLE to move right now) and that damn thing keeps beeping like malfunction self checkout machine for no reason. I traveled via GWB a few times every week and since last week for some reason it started to beep when I am close to Port Authority.

I did not get the beep on my 2021 2DR JL but I recently got a 2024 JLUR (love it love it love it until that forking BEEP BEEP BEEP) and I am going outta my mind going thru the menu and see if I can disable it. I dont use Sirius, I dont wanna use Sirius Traffic, I only link my Google to my car and thats all I need.

Recently that EVAs alert has been beeping so much that I had to bring my emotional support animal - Radek the Lion - and punched his face to alleviate my frustration and sudden distraction due to all the beepings.

@Rhinebeck01 I am gonna come up to you and I am gonna buy you 50 beers and liquors of your choice you have helped me so much. Should I get a JSCAN or should I get a Tazer? - Also can that permanently disable my forking ESS on my new ride too? For the 2dr its a turbo engine and the secondary battery died and I just leave it as it is since it is out of warranty - and that sorta disabled ESS with warning. Please save Radek!

Hey Ken.... It's been a long time since we communicated last... Did you Jurassic theme this new JL?

I'm on a 4,000+ mile trip right now.. Driving 18 hrs. each step, before sleeping...

Anyway, this trip, (I do lots of trips each year) in the last 3 days, I have received 3 different, silent, pop-up, alerts to Emergency Vehicle ahead...

YES, even though JSCAN and Tazer JL, has always knocked out such alerts in the past, these 3, pop-up, silent, Emergency Vehicle Ahead got through..

I have another 18 hr. today to drive tonight and I'm headed to NY, so we'll see if I get more alerts.

I'll get back to you on this topic.. -Bill

Wow 4,000+ mile trip!! I am not gonna be nosy by asking where are you coming back from (where are you coming back from) but 18 hrs driving each step is way too much for me and I drive long distance a lot. I am sure that you have a lot of photos to share.

It is weird that even after you modified your system you still get the alerts that you should not be getting. Definitely looking forward to your opinion on this.

Thanks for getting back! No rush at all - get home safe! And get some rest!

Cheers

P.S: This one is gonna be Top Gun (Maverick) theme - since it is Anvil and stuff :)

There’s some good info here that I’m gonna try. I tell ya, one thing that Jeep did not take into consideration when implementing the loud bell-sounding alarm for this notification is those of us with ptsd. Now, I can handle loud sounds when I know it’s coming, but driving along and having that alarm go off scares the shit out of me every time (even with the radio volume down). I’m surprised that I haven’t punched the screen yet (don’t do that). You think that an educated group of engineers would make it easier to disable that loud alarm, but I guess we’re stuck with it. I’ll pick up a tazer and hopefully be done with it. šŸ¤™šŸ»

It won’t clear the screen unless you acknowledge it. It’s annoying and DISTRACTING as shit.
Doesn't that take your eyes off the road -- where they should be, especially since there's (theoretically) an emergency vehicle in the area??
I'm hoping I don't encounter this -- it sounds awful.

(I plugged in my phone while it was dead once, and the alert on the Jeep's screen was INCREDIBLY distracting, even though I wasn't even looking at the screen. No where to pull off the road, couldn't initiate the phone without a password. It was a whole thing ...)

Funny you say that.
It popped up on my jeep for the first time a few weeks ago and the very first thing I thought was while it’s intended purpose is to let you know there’s an incident up ahead it does so by distracting you by diverting your attention to the radio screen instead of paying attention to whats going on up ahead.

Totally distracting!!! I think it was meant to distract you (and unintentionally getting you into accident) I hate that alert. It is so misused by whoever the fork that is installing it in their building because two weeks ago I was driving on West Side Highway in NYC (mind you its on the fringes of the city) from GWB to Holland Tunnel - and that forking thing beeped over 10 times in the 20 minutes drive (its Saturday morning at 7am - there were not that many vehicles around - and I did not see any emergency vehicles. I don't know how new Jeep owner in NYC deals with it - I bet the system beeps every few blocks.

It is going to lose its effectiveness if people keeps on misusing it. I am most probably gonna get a Jscan and try to disable that but @Rhinebeck01 who had his disabled mentioned above that it does beep a few times on his trip back.

Well, with my JScan I have disable the Travel Alerts. This has gotten rid of the weather pop ups. But the emergency vehicle alerts have remained. It has gotten worse lately too. Like others have said there is a pop up, but no emergency vehicle whatsoever.

Should I activate then deactivate Travel Alerts again. Would that help reset and get rid of these notifications?

This has nothing to do with travel alerts. Jscan cant do anything about it.

Iā€˜ve gotten the alert maybe 6 or so times in our MY22, have never seen it come up in our MY24. Doesn’t mean it won’t come up in our MY24, it’s my wife’s daily driver, so I’m not in it as much, mostly weekends. I’m in the minority it seems, it doesn’t both me. The times I have gotten it was before I heard the siren and was glad it alerted me to look around and find out where the emergency vehicle was coming from. Then again I’m a techno gadget freak, and we have all the techno stuff in our vehicles.

Has anyone found a way to fully disable these? Are Jscan/Tazer solutions holding?

I saw a reply from JeepCares on another forum that said they could help, and I messaged them.
I got directed to call Uconnect General Support who had no clue what I was talking about but transferred me to SiriusXMGuardian, stating that even though I don't have a Guardian account, they handle connected services.

Well, Guardian understood the service but do not control it and have no ability to assist, directing me to ask a dealership to plug in and disable it. Have not pursued this route yet...

I live a half a block from a busy fire station, in a busy metro area. I need this to go away.

Not yet. Curious on the dealer route.
