I have had:

18 3.6 ESS
23 3.6 etorque
24 3.6 ESS

Of the three, the worst experience was the 23 etorque.
Jerky starts and stops, annoying regen forcing me to use gas pedal on downhills instead of coasting. Dangerous IMO jerking to a stop then jerking starts at stop lights. Dealer had it 90 days, no fix.

Of the three, the etorque got the worst MPG by 1 mpg less than the brand new 24. The etorque was a 2 door, the 18 and 24 are 4 doors.

Stelantis didnt stop making it because they had bad marketing, they stopped making it because it failed at what they wanted, many mpg improvement over non etorque which they did not get.
That’s your experience my 22 XR eTorque 3.6 is head and shoulders better then our 18 non eTorque… still pulling 18-19 mpg with 4.56 gears and 37s over 20mpg on 35s. The 18 didn’t do that good on 35s.
And yes they still make the eTorque
, ALL RAMs with the 3.6L in 2025 have the eTorque.

are they making the ram 1500 5.7 with etorque? Thats a 2020 I had thought it pretty good.

2025 Ram no longer has a Hemi just the I6 but as I mentioned all 3.6L are eTorque.

My 2019 JLUR with 2.0T and E-Torque has been flawless. I added a 2" lift, 35" tires, steel front bumper with winch and engine, transmission, transfer case, e-torque battery and differential skid plates and still get 21.5 mpg combined city/hwy mileage. The start stop is so smooth it's almost unnoticeable (compared to my brother's Chevy Silverado which uses the starter for ESS). I notice very little turbo lag but I'm not sure how much effect the E-Torque has on turbo lag. I've got nearly 66,000 miles on my JLUR and never has any issues with the E-Torque system.

I'm considering an order for a 2025 JLUR with the 2.0T and hope the performance is as good as my 2019.
