Absolutely contact whoever you have your loan thru. I had a similar problem with getting a title from a dealership(the vehicle was traded in, and the dealership didn't satisfy the old loan to get the title) I didn't have a copy of the title to get plates after 90 days, so I couldn't drive it. I talked to my credit union, and they had their attorney contact the dealership. The owner of the dealership called me the next day and made everything good
I think @Robtco99 is on to something here. Check this out

I just got around to renewing my over 30 day expired registration today and haven’t had a front plate on it since new. I’m not a strict rule follower, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
If you were a strict rule follower then you most certainly couldn't be the last cowboy.

Been hearing lots of complaints about Vroom similar to yours.

Years ago I attempted to buy a JL Sahara from Carvana; my experience was no better. I got tired of the runaround and ended canceling the deal.

IMO, the problem with Vroom and Carvana is that 100 different people are involved but no one is responsible for anything, so it’s easy for things fall through the cracks.

As much as we love to hate the traditional dealer system, the bottom line is that the sales manager, the business manager and the salesman have a vested interest in making sure your deal gets pushed all the way to the end. Until that happens, they don’t get paid.
I will never buy from Carvana, buy I've sold 2 vehicles to them now and it's been a piece of cake both times. It is very literally a 15 minute process when they come to pick it up. Sign some paperwork, they drive it around the block to make sure it runs, exchange the money and keys, off they go. Takes them longer to load it on the flat bed.

I just saw that you have a rental vehicle provided by Vroom so they have at least attempted to help. If they are providing a rental, I am not sure you could go back after them if you get a ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle.

As mentioned earlier, the registration is not needed for your insurance coverage. If you got in a wreck, all they can do is write you another ticket for having an unregistered vehicle, there is no other big fine or trouble you can get it.

I would think that if you have all the documentation stating you are trying to resolve this printed in your glove box, most cops would be fine with it.

It looks like in Georgia, this is the fee you would be facing if you were not able to talk your way out if it to the cop or judge.

Failure to renew vehicle’s Georgia License Plate Registration during your county’s established registration period10% of Ad Valorem Tax due + 25% of License Plate FeesAd valorem Penalty has a $5.00 minimum

How can a auto dealer ship be so bad at paperwork? I mean that is a key part of their business.

I am working to sell my step-mom's car after she passed away and I haven't even bothered with Vroom or Carvana as I don't trust em to complete the paperwork
Selling - easy. I've done it twice with Carvana and they hand you a check on the spot. They were offering higher than trade in and was ballpark for what I was trying to get for it private-party

Would I ever buy one from them? Oh hell no....

About a 5 months ago my friend purchased an SUV through Vroom. He also had a problem with the temp tag expiring He changed the number from a 1 to a 4 and the following day he received a new temp tag BUT he left the old one on his seat. It gets better!! He gets pulled over from a cop in NYC to check the temp tag and all was good UNTIL he saw the one on his seat was altered. He ended up getting arrested and wasn't able to make bail until the following day!

You mentioned there was a possibility of returning it early on in this thread. I'm thinking that window is closed now since you're in a full blown fight with them but I thought I'd ask anyway ... can you still return in and come out whole?

Because a late model used vehicle, ESPECIALLY a Wranger, would cost thousands more than ordering at the 6 to7 percent below INVOICE you can get just contacting one of the many dealers around the country from a list on this forum. Of course you'll have to order it and wait but you're waiting anyway so ...

From a liability standpoint, that's all that matters. Drive it.

Personally, I'd be more concerned as to why someone traded in a Jeep with only 1640 miles on it.
I had it inspected the day after it was delivered and it's absolutely perfect.

I'm a Cubs fan living in Milwaukee. I had a Cubs WS frame on my front plate... somebody stole it (plate and frame) 2 summers ago. I went down to the police station to report it, and they basically sent me away... This was on my former vehicle. If they didn't care, I'm not going to care. When I bought the Jeep, I had the rear plate transferred, but still going without a front plate.

I think the OP is probably going about it the right way... But if it was me, I'd drive it. At least up her it's only a $150 ticket if they pull you over. But I'd make sure I had no alcohol or weed in my system, just in case they use it as an excuse to look for more.
