The Motor Trend article leaves out some major facts about the Rivian Rubicon experience. There were three Rivians on the adventure, two R1Ts and the one R1S. Both R1Ts broke and had to be towed off the trail. There was a modified Jeep that accompanied the Rivians and the Jeep winched the Rivian's over all the major obstacles or they wouldn't have made it. The Rivian engineers stated that they lost count of how many times they had to be winched in order to make it over the obstacles. The vehicles also took about $30K in body damage.

Lots of information and pics on the Rubicon Trail Facebook page.

The CyberTruck was also accompanied by a modified Wrangler that assisted in a similar way. Of course since the CyberTrucks off-road capabilities appear to be less than a Subaru Cross Trek it is no wonder why it took 3 days and 5 tie rods, a steering rack, and various other bits to end up where it is.

So wild... we left the trailhead at 8 AM and was at the Springs by 3PM.
When we left, we left around 8AM and were in Tahoe by 1PM at the latest.
It's a Jeep thing, I guess.

It really is a Jeep thing. I've run the Rubicon 8 times, with the last 3 times in my 392. Last year the trail was very crowded with traffic and we had to stop and wait multiple times for a vehicle that needed repair to even get off the trail. I started keeping track, and each and every time it was a broken Toyota that was causing the delay. Never a Jeep. This year there was hardly any traffic and we were able to drive right through with similar time that you report. There were three vehicles broken down being repaired, but they were all off the trail by the time we got to them. All 3 were a Toyota, never a Jeep. So, I have to ask myself if perhaps a Toyota is not the best vehicle for a challenging trail.

And a Toyota is far better than a Rivian or a Cyber Truck for a trail like this. Does it even count as doing the Rubicon if you stacked rocks the whole way, or winched over every obstacle?
