awesome build thread. I really like the rock krawler arms, I had the stretched wheelbase RK setup on my TJ in my profile pic and loved it

I'm saving up for a JL rubicon. I have a question about the front motorized sway bar disconnect.

When the Rubicon swaybar is disconnected where the two halves of the swaybar interlock, is it still possible the sway bar links attached to the sway bar to limit droop and flex? It something I thought I noticed on other JL stock rubicons (not yours) when they disconnect and flex out.

Perhaps I would still invest in old school manual disconnect pins at the links even with the convenience of the motorized disconnect to get max flex, although yours looks to flex super.

Thanks

Thanks brother……

It’s the style of the oem links that are limiting. They have fixed bushing on one end, and the pivot bolt on the other end. That coupled with the length, they’ll bind up before the sway bar can fully drop out because of the amount of misalignment that occurs when articulating.

In the pic I’m connected, but in the other pic that was with this one I’m unhooked, and there’s only maybe a quarter inch difference.

It’s all due to the style of links. If you use a link with a heim on each end that will let misalignment happen and the bar drop out without binding.

Im using RK no limits links………

If you do a lift and use longer links it will drop out better, but the links with standard bushings, the bushings are going to wear out quicker if you wheel it often.

I was recently asked if I’ve noticed any sag in my springs, I have not, it’s dead level…….

Jeep Wrangler JL Crystal Rubi build… 31C137BD-8DAA-47A0-8864-FAC266FC4529

These springs been on about 3 years now. I recently loaded 10 - 40lb bags of water softener salt in the back. 400 pounds made it only squat 5/8”. A 1/16” under 10 to a 1/16” under 3/8”, I’m calling it 5/8”.

I have about 250 back there daily, 37” spare on a beadlock rim 110lb, LoD steel bumper 80 lb, and EVO tire carrier 60lb.

So I’m happy with how these RK 3.5” springs are aging……..:)

Adjusted my E brake handle. I could pull it almost halfway up before it started clicking.
Wasn’t to bad….
remove 4 - 10mm bolts, raise the back of console, prop it up with something, put a couple extensions together with deep 10mm socket give it a few twist (righty tightly) let console down try it, adjust accordingly, put back together, easy peasy, there’s videos on it.
