I'd still like to order a new Jeep JL (when? I'm unsure exactly but I'm STILL saving for it), but lately I have started looking ALOT at the KTM and Husqvarna 500cc dual sport dirt bikes
Those are my thoughts too about better access to the winch on a top mount. I plan to run a warn m8 for a 2dr JL and that will hardly obstruct airflow to radiator. Actually I wouldn't worry about obstruction on a top mount regardless of winch profile unless it was a Warn 8724 and thats from...
which trail is that? Collateral Damage at Table Mesa, or Judgment Day? Genright makes good stuff. I had their rocker side armor on my TJ. I'll check them out again.
It will be awesome on the technical trails crawling in the rocks in 4lo, which is why it's offered. I wouldn't mind daily driving with that gearing in the JL. My TJ had 5.13 and 5spd manual on 33s before upgrading to much larger tires later. But for the year I was still on 33s with 5.13s I...
column shifter would be a departure from wrangler tradition, but I like the idea. Some early jeeps (talking about 1945s) came with column shifters. Check the old army movies or M.A.S.H. series. I'm not against the idea, would be cool to have manual shift on the column too. Some older cars...
When i order my new jeep I plan to also order some basic upgrades including Reid racing knuckles, better balljoints and chromo shafts (probably CV) as part of the initial investment. Do it fast, like removing a bandaid.
I think this high velocity looks really good in all the photos I've seen, even though they differ from image to image because of lighting or monitor color calibration or whatever.
I think this color would look especially good with black hardtop and black steel wheels, like on the sport.
I agree the Rubicon has advantage still, but thebrake locking differential (bld) feature is pretty nice on the otherwise open diff axles of the non Rubicon JL. I wonder if BLD works with the LSD rear too. I think we need more acronyms.
Very nice jeep! Willys XR with 4.56 axle gearing and 2.72:1 tcase would be the sweet spot for me in louisiana swamps where 4:1 tcase may be too low. Enjoy!
awesome build thread. I really like the rock krawler arms, I had the stretched wheelbase RK setup on my TJ in my profile pic and loved it
I'm saving up for a JL rubicon. I have a question about the front motorized sway bar disconnect.
When the Rubicon swaybar is disconnected where the two...
ONLY two things kept me from diesel (I want to order a new wrangler someday soon)
1) I like 2drs alot
2) Cost for replacement of diesel emissions parts out of warranty, sensors, exhaust etc and a gunky intake.
The stuff about fuel, DEF, temps, the fact I take mostly short trips and then...
That's a beauty! I'm still planning to order a Jeep wrangler someday soon. I'd get a silver but my previous wrangler was silver. But man that looks good especially with those leather seats. Cool that you got the diesel too.
I'm glad you asked the question because last time I drove an automatic wrangler it was a '99 3spd. I don't remember having to apply brake to shift from N to D, so it's good to know incase I happen to get an auto jl.
