Got the RRDs off the shelf and tuned them up.. 3 of the 4 filled with nitrogen to 100 psi… compressed them a few times and they’re working great…. The forth one blew out the schrader valve as I was compressing it. Valve hit the wall like a bullet, and oil squirted everywhere ….… Sorry no pics of the carnage..🤣 …….Turns out the threads look stripped, I was on borrowed time

Took the shock apart , everything looks good, don’t need to rebuild it….. Just need to get a new top cap with the schrader… I reached out to RK, they said they can sell me a new cap, and got a couple answers I needed…

That would be just my luck and I really don't like things exploding near my face.

Got my shock parts today ……. RK was real helpful despite they don’t like giving out details. They don’t want guys trying to rebuild their own shocks, then sending them in, in a shoebox wanting them fixed….🤣

Some pics in the wild........:)...

Sorry, no exotic places, but the wife and I are still working and we own our own business without any employees so almost impossible to get away right now. Hopefully we can slow down soon......:whew:

Thanks man! ….Yes sir, citrus
That's awesome! I've been eager to get back on some dirt trails, or anything for that matter to get some articulation on the jeep. I forgot FL was all flat land when I moved here a few years back.

Would you happen to recommend any trail in particular that you enjoyed within citrus? I see there are quite a few, I'd prefer to avoid mud pits.

I finally got some time, got my RRD shock rebuilt, charged and ready to go… no leaks, working great…. Was kinda surprised to find out that RK uses Amsoil, lol.. I’ve gotta call Jim, they never sent me a new sticker, I hope it doesn’t affect the performance…🤣

Emptied the catch can, doing a study to see how many miles I can go between emptying….. this time I went 900 miles and got right at 1 oz the way we use her…..
The can holds 3 oz and I probably got another 3 oz I can fit in the drain hose since I ran it where I did….So freaking easy to drain it now where I have it, plus it helps me remember to drain it…… lol….

How do the RRD shocks compare to the Fox’s? I know they are not an apples to apples comparison, but for someone who only crawls and drives on the street would the RRDs be a good option against the pricier Fox shocks?

They ride great…. They were just a couple inches shorter full droop… also I wanted (which I use a lot) adjustability…. They’re a little softer than the foxes, but not too soft…. Mine don’t have the IFP either so, the ones out now are even better than the ones I have…..When I have to use them I’m thinking about using the MC shock brackets that raise the shock 1.5” that would make my articulation close to the same….
