Got it all wrapped up by noon on Sunday…..Everything is good, love using 8th gear again, and having some pep in the step……The bittersweet part of this is FOBDS (fear of being done syndrome) is setting in…? ……

I know we’re never really done, but I’m not talking about sill guards and screen savers, lol, I’m talking about major modifications……I’ve got Artec aluminum skids, and rear upgraded axle shafts left on my list…. The next obvious step is tons, 4Ds, and coil overs, but I’m not sure I’m even going there, no desire to at the moment…..Oh well… first world problems, right ? ……?

Did clearance test for the Artec truss. I mocked up the truss with cardboard and taped it on the axle to check clearance before I ordered it, but I still wanted to be sure ……. I used this vid as a guide………

I opted to not put the pieces under the spring pads due to my bump stop nut is hard enough to get to as is, with the truss under there, forget about it….lol.

Gave the ramp a fresh coat of paint, it’s gonna need some maintenance soon, Florida weather is the hardest on wood, even marine grade pressure treated, than anywhere I ever lived…..?

Went with 4.88s, only plan on going up to 38s on these axles…..
What swayed you to 4.88 vs 5.13? I'm going through that same decision process myself now and am leaning towards the lower ratio. I understand it is weaker, but I haven't seen anything on yield strength to understand just how much weaker. I don't bounce around and tend to crawl slow.

I’m not going to run any bigger than a 38” tire on these axles, so I wanted to keep it as strong as possible, and keep the rpm’s down on the freeways….. it was a long deliberation for me, and I feel ya on trying to decide, lol….

I would have went with 5.13s if I was gonna run 40s, or carried a lot of camping gear, or pulled a camper etc… but we just wheel and daily drive it….. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one really……. Hope I didn’t make it worse….?

Well I’ve hit 500 miles on my rear gears and only about 30 on the front…I should be around 50-60 on front after this weekend, so I’m gonna change diff oil next weekend…… being out of the break-in period feels like…..

Yeah, if I don’t do that, the bolts always end up under the creeper wheels, and it stops you in your tracks……:headbang:
