I joined this club in mid-April at ~3500 miles. First and only tiny chip turned into a large crack. Have been waiting since for the Gorilla Glass to arrive from back order. Just arrived and was installed today. Insurance covered it. Seems like this is such a big problem my insurance is willing to allow the Gorilla Glass with full coverage.

I hope this one works better!

Got a nice chip/small crack in my windshield. I want to get it fixed but I’m wondering if it’s too small to warrant a new windshield. Don’t want to take it in just to get epoxy in it. Has anyone had a similar situation? Also hoping to upgrade to gorilla glass. I don’t have the safety package.

I just got my 2nd windshield (one per Jeep) replaced by the Dealer. One had a small crack similar to yours, but it was there when I bought it and I had them replace it as part of the deal (not Gorilla Glass). The other one cracked when I turned on the defroster in the winter and they replaced it under warranty (with the Gorilla Glass).

So you went to the dealership for replacement the 2nd time too? And we’re able to get gorilla glass no charge?
From what I read everyone seems to like safelite better. My deductible is zero for windshield so doesn’t matter which one just trying to figure out how to be able to get gorilla glass without being hassled.

Anyone crack their own windshield? Happened to me. Driving in the middle of the desert, not another car for miles. I must have picked up a rock, thrown it up and forward, and found it with my windshield.

And mom complained that I was an underachiever... pssh.

Both were replaced by the dealer (since I have to pay for windshield replacements through my insurance carrier), 1 was Gorilla Glass, 1 one standard (just did that one last week) I guess b/c I have the advanced safety group?

Safelite does a great job, but I don't know who the dealer actually uses to get them replaced, I know they aren't done at the actual dealership though.

I live in Northern Alberta where cracked windshields are common. Only our 4XE is driven locally and it cracked this week in sub-zero weather with the defroster on full blast, It went through a car wash the day before but was parked overnight in the garage.
It cracked warming-up out in a mall parking lot after being remote started. No rocks, how lame!

I just joined with my Gorilla Glass taking a break 1 hour after leaving the dealership.
Well that pretty much settles whether or not I'll get a GG.
