  1. Would You Buy The Lifetime Maximum Care If They Brought It Back At A Little Higher Price?

IMO ā€Would you like to buy a Mopar extended warranty?ā€ is just different verbiage for ā€œWould you like to pay a few thousand dollars to hear ā€˜thats normal, itā€™s a Jeep thingā€™?ā€.
  2. Belt Start Generator (BSG) Failure

I donā€™t disagree - he initially said $600 and I told him give me a few minutes, looked up the part and it seems $65-$80 part only was the ā€˜do it myselfā€™ ballpark and I called back and mentioned that - he looked it back up and said their part cost was $129 + install, re-estimated Around $400...
  3. Belt Start Generator (BSG) Failure

I literally just got off the phone with the dealer servicing my Jeep for a similar repair. Yesterday I was in heavy start/stop traffic on I-95 south of DC, absent-mindedly with auto start/stop left on, noticed a really rough start and CEL illuminated. Seemed to run ok after a moment so I turned...
  4. Input Needed - JK failed inspection for this

Thanks - I thought that I would just get a small extension and couple of clamps to do the same, but there is a chrome tip larger than the pipe that is welded on. Could maybe just rig something over that, but think Iā€™ll just find another shop. Good point on the interpretation.
  5. Input Needed - JK failed inspection for this

Hey guys - took my older Wrangler in for inspection and although it has passed 2x with the same setup, the tech rejected it this time. I put an American Thunder and resonator cat-back in (model made for specific JK figment) a couple years ago and have had no issues. This year, the inspector...
  6. Cracked Windshield Club

New to the club (for JL anyway - 3x member with my JK). Caught a rock near the top of my windshield - could barely see the tiny pit at impact when it happened, but by the next day it had spread beyond a fill repair. Went with Safelite and got the ā€˜OEMā€™ glass which seems the same as others here...
  7. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Took me around 6 weeks to get mine in the first time, with no results. Had to reschedule once b/c they had no loaners. Interesting how swamped their service centers are. Nice of them to at least give you a space in the post-service survey to supplement the response with your view of the outcome:
  8. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Got mine back last Friday and they flashed it, but only because I also have inconsistent/unpredictable acceleration from a stop or slow roll. It did nothing for acceleration or steering. I assume a flash is newest software release in general versus targeted to a specific component, but canā€™t...
  9. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Got out for a highway drive today. No change in steering after the V41 and alignment done - as expected.
  10. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Yes on folks experiencing the same tired line. Got my Jeep back today. Could not determine if the V41 or alignment helped in any since it was stop and go traffic the entire trip home. But, I did get the ā€œoperates as intendedā€ on the acceleration issue...well, kind of. Service advisor said...
  11. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

If they re-flash, is it a general update, or specific to just a targeted component? Mine is in for steering plus other issues, and they said they would re-flash to try and address the acceleration. Wondering if that would include any and all available updates.
  12. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

So mine is going on day 3 in the shop - they called to update on the 3 issues itā€™s in for and for the steering, they told me (as though this was a big accomplishment) that they replaced the damper and did an alignment. Iā€™m underwhelmed with the response, but I owe it to try it before saying...
  13. Sun shades : solid or mesh? match vehicle colour?

I have a black mesh shade and love it. Mine covers front seats only (2 door) and I got the Spiderwebshade. Really like the fasteners that came with it vs the loop-and-ball you see on some. Mopar has a nice one that also covers rear seats on 2-door and thought about that one, but itā€™s pricier...
  14. My update to 2020 JLUR after upgrades in attempt to fix loose steering

Iā€™m thinking it lies in poor consistency during the build process or in component performance and that itā€™s just random as to whether someoneā€™s experience is good vs bad. I took my JL Rubicon in today for warranty work including the V41 repair and was given a JLU Sport as a loaner. Both have...
  15. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Iā€™m scheduled to take my JL in on 11/12 for the damper work (and a few other warranty issues needing attention). I donā€™t see the damper doing much at all to resolve the wandering. Reading the continued experiences here cause me to expect a long ordeal (especially given that you canā€™t get a...
  16. Poor factory paint on hardtop - anyone else?

Glad to hear it. As for my own matter, I was due a dealer appointment this Thursday for the steering damper replacement, and when I told them they will also need to address the hard top paint and a couple of additional concerns, they said they have no more loaner vehicles...didnā€™t have time to...
  17. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Took my JL in today because of the drifting - they said I should be good to go now after replacing the steering wheel.
  18. Government to look into steering issues

Iā€™m also dealing with the wandering - itā€™s a bit better since I lowered pressure from the 44 psi as received from the dealer (???), but still much sloppier than my 07 JKU, and that itself is a bit of a wanderer. Fortunately no death wobble like others have described, but I have begun to notice...
  19. Poor factory paint on hardtop - anyone else?

Agree on asking them to do the whole top if that will resolve things - in my case Iā€™m concerned that a repaint alone would only mask the underlying problem, which Iā€™m guessing to be seam adhesive underneath that caused the paint to fail. Iā€™ve no idea if they can sand/get rid of that without...
