my control arm brackets on my axles are taking a beating from rocks.
I am considering control arm brackets, but are they worth it?
Anyone who uses them wheeling have good or bad to say about them?
I spend a lot of $$ and effort to gain ground clearance and I am concerned the protection of the control arm skids won’t be worth the loss in clearance.

I just put on the rancho skids last week, minimal loss in clearance, literally the thickness of the steel, a quarter inch, haven’t hit them on anything yet though.....:)

I have the Rock Hard LCA skids, I love them. Had them on my 2019 and bought them again for my 2020. That have taken a beating and do not flinch. There are a few others out there as well, really I'm sure any will work.

Thanks to you both, this is just what I needed to hear. I just ordered the RH4x4 Skids for all 4 corners.

Just an FYI, in case anyone was wondering, the RH4x4 front control arm skids don't work with some aftermarket CAD skids without some modifications to the control arm skids themselves.

which ones have an issue? And do you mean FAD skid? If FAD I can't see how that would ever interfere, but I am not running anything there yet.

CAD/FAD. Yes, I have the Metalcloak skid and it interferes with the control arm skid because if it's size. I haven't got around to cutting/modifying the RH4x4 control arm skid yet to make it work. But honestly, my front control arms don't see the same abuse as the rears so it wasn't a huge priority. But my metalcloak skid has seen some hits.

The Artec rear skids are awesome. Haven't installed any up front yet.

Thanks for that info. I have a Prorock 44 and it has no FAD/CAD.

I was going to go with artec, but my welding skills is for shit, lol. If these fail I’ll get artecs and bribe my buddy to hook me up....:)
Yeah I got the bolt-on ones for now. Lol.

Son of bit&@!..... that’s what I get for not doing better research. Didn’t see they had bolt on ones. I’d definitely prefer artec... maybe I can sell my ranchos....:giggle:.......jk...I’ll see how they do I guess....

I have RockHard bolt ons. If/ when I get access to a welder I'd like to do some weld ons. Rusty's maybe, they have JK for $24 and look like they cover more. Artec's are fitted for JL's but cost more at $54, maybe cover less.
