I agree it’s not random because the survey is provided to subscribers. That said, help me understand why this methodology uniquely biased against the Jeep Wrangler….as it relates to reliability (not driving performance). Candidly I have found their reliability ratings to be pretty close to my personal experiences with all cars I have owned. It’s CR’s road tests that I believe are incredibly biased.
It's non random because their sample is firstly from CR subscribers and secondly from people who choose to respond. After that it does not matter - their sample is not representative of the population. Their data is biased and should not be used to infer anything about the population. The only way to sample is randomly.

As other people point out, I scratch my head when shared platforms built in the same factory get profoundly different reliability ratings.

I don't know over the last week I think I've put quite a bit of coolant in my Jeep... I'm starting to get worried. So the weekend before last I did an oil change and noticed the coolant reservoir was pretty low and topped it off. The morning after I got back from the Jeep jamboree (this past Sunday) I had to top it off again... Less than a thousand miles and it already needed coolant again.

Not sure where the coolant is going because there's no apparent leaks and I don't smell coolant under the hood either.

Still less than 22,000 miles.

Did you enable the piston cleaning cycle by mistake ?

Gonna need a separate suit for the head gaskets.
Phuk em. I'm not joining any class action. What's that gonna do? Get me $50? Maybe enough for one meal at a sit-down restaurant. Class actions ought to be illegal.

None... but it pays well.
Of all the years of seeing cars on the side of the road, very few jeeps, old or newish. Sort of like old Toyota trucks... if they are broke down, it's from being off road, not on the side of the road.

Even a blind mouse can find some cheese once in a while.

They might get it right. They may be way off. That's what you expect given their methodology.

Thing is, the responses are from subscribers giving an opinion. And those aren't vetted. Someone who doesn't want to hurt the rating of a brand they heard was good may give a favorable rating when their car had lots of problems. Conversely, Someone frustrated with a brand may exaggerate flaws in their response. Both can heavily skew the results.

Again, if CR vetted the responses or somehow got access to warranty claim data, they could give a much more accurate representation.
Car and Driver or Autoweek are more relevant with road test reviews than CR.

Hey CR, some of us still know how to repair vehicles, unlike your MB and Audi subscriber's that only know how to whine!

Or should I let it go until I get an actual check engine light for misfires and a cylinder is completely cooked so I get a new long block under warranty?
Head gasket went in wifes 2019 3.6 at just over 50k miles and 13 days past the 5 year warranty. No early warning signs and no coolant use. Started to misfire and got CEL with cylinder 6 misfire code. Got a MOPAR reman long block under the extended warranty. It took 11 weeks but so far at about 1400 miles since we got it back and it's doing great. Good luck!
