Every 15k miles roughly or about once a year. We tend to do ours after ‘weird shit’. Desert trip? Change them. Crazy dusty trip? Change them. Wildfires? Change them. Back when I smoked cigarettes I had them changed *way* more often than most people do.

I check mine every Fall, as soon as the weather turns cold enough to swap out the Sunrider for the Freedom panels. I don't use the AC much where I am in Canada, so in-cabin air circulation/quality isn't an issue in the warmer months.

Cabin air filter is around $10, I change mine after every Moab, Sand Hollow or other off road trip. With the money I have invested in my Jeep, $50-$60/year is cheap comfort.

I thought something was wrong with my blower or blend door. My ac was blowing real weak and a lot of air noise. It was the cabin filter and it didn't even look that bad compared to the photos on here. I drive quite a few dirt roads and i would say every 10k miles is where I'd change it.... at least where I'm at and my use. Now the air blasts out of the vents.

I have the K&N washable version now.... clean it every other oil change, whether it 'needs' it or not....

All my vehicles now have K&N washable ones - Engine and Cabin, I clean and service them once a year in spring.

Is it spring in GA yet? I woke up to 49 degrees today, last week was 85 or something.

If you use a K&N engine air filter, check the intake tube and throttle body for fine dust. My past experience was that their filters let more dirt in than OEM.

ditto. look for high silicon content in your oil analysis...I think the big problem with k&N is they need to be pretty dirty looking for them to work at collection particles and when they are working they look bad so people clean them....

The proliferation of the cabin air filter has drastically reduced the mold contamination issues on A/C condensers.
