Upgraded my lift today from 2.5" to 3.5" and I believe that my front driveshaft is turning when running down the road I think this is happening because there is a vibration that I have now that I did not before. The vibration feels exactly like it did when my front shaft was turning when the FAD shafts were bound up (long story involving Jeep Slop Shop). I am guessing it is not turning under power (meaning that it could be stopped), but just that way from the axle spinning (FAD not engaged).

I am running 6.3* of caster. Does anyone know if that is enough to cause contention with the angles between the axle and the transfer case?

Stock front shaft, or an aftermarket double cardan setup?

I'm around 6-6.3 and I can run 70 in 4 auto (FAD locked) without vibration.

With the jeep running in 2wd (Park + Parking brake of course), you can slide under and should be able to free rotate the DS.

This one? https://metalcloak.com/jk-jl-front-driveshaft-auto-transmission.html

Only one joint is a double-cardan (which is a constant velocity type joint). In order to get this to be smooth the single-cardan joint would need to be almost in a straight line... which would make the caster completely wrong.

I'd get the FAD working again.

FAD is still working and I plan to keep it. I was just wondering what the maximum caster is and not experience vibration with the MC driveshaft that I have.

PS...Yep; that is the one. Does anyone make a double double cardan shaft (double cardan on each end)?

Just curious...

I haven't seen any with double-cardans (or any CV) on both ends.

I’m running a similar aftermarket 1310 setup without issue.

Aftermarket double cardan (Metal Cloak).
I currently have the same Metalcloak 1310 front shaft and 6.5° of caster. No vibrations in 2h at any speed, and have never been in 4h above about 45mph to know if vibes would start at highway speeds.
