Bought my jlu in July. Connected my iPhone with Bluetooth and CarPlay worked with no issues. Got new xs max and connected with Bluetooth but no CarPlay. When first connected got an error message but was there and gone so fast didn’t get a chance to read now no CarPlay through any connection. Not even the CarPlay app on the unconnected screen. Plays music on connection and charges. Had a dealership and asked about an update and was told was ok might be my phone. Looking for any suggestions

Have the cord that came with the new phone. Still nothing. Gonna try my daughters iPhone when I get the chance and see if I get anything that way. I think the thing that bothers me most is everything I have seen shows the CarPlay app on the screen before you connect and I don’t even have that

@JeepCares CarPlay used to work intermittently before but now none of the USB ports in the jeep pick up my phone to use CarPlay. Tested with aftermarket cables, original iPhone cables from apple no difference. Re-booted and factory wiped my Uconnect. On the media page the USB i plug into lights up for 1 second then goes grey for 9 seconds repeatedly. What solutions do you have? This is getting worse.

This morning turned on the Jeep after being off for 13 hours. The first thing i tried was plug in the iPhone to see if CarPlay would come up. It did for 1 minute then disconnected and will not reconnect. @JeepCares

Try pulling the fuse to your radio/display for a minute, then plug it back in. The labels to which fuse are under the fuse box cover. My bluetooth and Apple Play was acting weird initially, but ever since I removed and reinserted the fuse, no problems. I also found a large percentage of the relays and fuses were super loose and would snap in when I pushed on them.

Hi Patinito,

We can check the compatibility of your phone. If it turns out the phone you're using, with this software level, is suppose to allow you to utilize this feature, the next step would be a visit to the dealer. It may be something beyond the surface. Send us a direct message so that we can look further into your situation.

Had this happen to me in Moab on a trail. I like using android auto while off road because google maps actually shows you the off road trail (kind of cool) so I would know if i turned the wrong way. All of a sudden it just stopped working, all ports stopped charging my phones (even though it said charging it didnt even go up 1% after HOURS of being plugged in) and my temp sensor on the headunit stayed at 54 degrees the entire day. Even off road pages wouldn't load. After we were done with the trail I air'ed up and then pulled two fuses; one for radio and one for the USB ports. Everything immediately started working again like new after putting them back in.

Pulled out fuse 11 (usb ports and radio) and pushed in all the loose fuses. Amazing how many came loose from the factory. CarPlay has been solid since! Also using an iPhone OEM lightning cable. I need a longer cable to reach my mount so i ordered a longer MFI certified lighting cable to see if that will also work. Thank you CaliforniaJeeping. You saved me a trip to the idiots at my dealership that put 6 quarts of oil in my JL. Imagine them trying to figure this out.

You are welcome. Yeah, the Jeep dealership here put 6 quarts in mine as well. Twice, and they acted like *I* was the idiot when I told the service advisor to make sure it was 5 and not 6 and I even walked into the service bay to make sure the techs knew and they still F**ked up. So I ordered this tag that should arrive any day now - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...your-jeep-jl-today.3033/page-1041#post-672544 to zip tie to the oil cap. Also, I found over 50% of the fuses and relays were loose on mine - symptoms include flakey USB connections, the backup camera lines would disappear, re-appear and other weirdness. And there were finger tight ball joint nuts, and the track bar bolts, drag link bolts, etc. were less than 50% of the factory spec torque levels. @JeepCares you should let @JeepFactoryQA know they have some serious QA issues. Read all of the loose steering threads and see how many also found loose bolts, fuses, etc.

This should be a sticky thread. How many issues would be solved with what you just mentioned...

Thanks again.

I tried multiple iPhones, multiple wires (apple and aftermarket), and pulled fuses 11 and 97 out and still not working for me. I got caught in a bad hail/rain storm last Saturday and that was the day it stopped working. I had the roof on but not the doors and it was soaked inside... but I would expect that the phones would not charge and they do. I actually don't really love carplay! i just hate that it is broken!

Has anyone on this thread found a permanent solution to Apple Car Play disconnecting? There are several threads written about this but no one seems to have a clear permanent solution. Any feedback on a permanent fix is greatly appreciated.
