Jeep Wrangler JL Can I easily get automatic temperature control (climate control)? PXL-20230507-212148322

If I simply switched my AC controls in the pic above with this one...

Would I then have climate control? Would I gain anything else by swapping those?

Thanks for your help!

you have climate control, you don't have dual zone climate control for the driver and passenger. Climate control is also integrated into infotainment head as well

There is a write up in the DIY section to do this, you will likely need the temp sensor that is in the panel below the dash on the drivers side and a new sun sensor. I used the write up to add them to mine. You will also have to change the settings in the BCM to get it to work.

Just FYI, the auto temp control doesn’t work that great.

It really is pretty shitty...

Any idea if it's possible to do an auto climate control / dual zone delete?
Since the 7 inch radio became standard there is a manual HVAC control with the volume knob, but it is on a Sport, so no Dual Zone. Idk if it would work on a Jeep with Dual Zone, would the zones sync or would there be one side with no control.

It isn't worth the trouble. I wish I could just adjust the level of heat input myself.

By any chance would you have the part # for the climate control panel that came standard in your '22 Willys Wrangler? My '20 Gladiator and my wife's '19 Wrangler Sport S both came with the single zone climate stacks and heated seats. I just installed the 8.4" radios in both and would like to have the volume control knob and don't need automatic climate control. I think the part number could be 7EV05DX9AA, but I'm not certain. Thanks, Dan

Don't give up a good thing. I'd rather go the other way to single-zone manual climate control, assuming it actually lets you control the heat level and it stays how you set it vs changing the amount of heat based on a temperature sensor.

That is exactly what I'm looking to do. I'd rather stick with the single zone climate setup vs the headache of adding the dual zone panel. The climate panels used on the '22+ models with the 7" screens mostly have the single (manual) temp control along with the volume knob. I just need one that also retains my heated seats and steering wheel like the one pictured above by woody999.
