Has anyone figured out what all is needed to get the dual zone control to work as a upgrade? A large number of us have upgraded our radios and intern upgraded the HVAC center stack..... but we have not been able to get/add dual zone so that the new center stack is fully functional. I would love to dive into this, looking to see of anyone else has tried yet lol

if you have Dual Zone stock, a Tazer can turn it off. maybe ask the Z Automotive guys if it can activate an upgrade?

To convert it to dual-zone you would have to change the HVAC Box as it is different. Probably doesn’t have the wires to run the additional dampers either.

i have no issues with that, im just trying to figure out what parts i would need to complete this. as for the wiring the sport S JLU has almost all the wiring harnesses for everything else (heated seats, cabin sensors, and all that jazz just are hidden :)

I’ll try and look at the bosses Rubicon and my Sport S and compare. I know the dash harness in my Sport has far fewer wires than the Rubicon.

I do have the dual zone HVAC control in mine.

Its not part of the dash harness. Its the heat and airconditioning module connector C1. C1 goes to all the blend doors, temp doors, balancing doors, and sensors for the climate control box. C2 is the connector for the sunlight sensor and car temperature. You already have the front left lower sensor behind the power windows switch panel. You can get the C1 harness and connect everything up minus 2 of the upper left/right sensors, and the front right lower sensor by drilling a 1/4 inch hole in the duct just like the left. The upper sensors wil require you to remove the plastic dash cage on the right side of the vehicle to get to the right upper one. The left side is a little easier. I can provide pics if needed. The real problem is the right blend door will need to be added to control the temps on the right side of the vehicle. From my understanding the airboxes are identical for the manual temp control and auto temp control. Adding the additional sensors will get you true auto climate control for those who already have added the sunlight sensor and the car temp sensor. It will only be single zone though, until you install the right side blend door. With the right side blend door, you will have true dual zone climate control. I'm not sure if the door is there yet, and adding a actuator will make it operational.. Will need to find an airbox that is dual zone and out of the vehicle to tell.

I realize this thread is dead, but all the gears are still spinning out here...

Thank you for taking the time to make these very helpful posts, it's much appreciated! I just upgraded to the 8.4" radio from the 5" one in my '20 Gladiator and I'm currenty still using the single zone manual temperature stack w/o the volume knob. I do have the correct dual zone auto climate stack that I briefly installed in its place, but the temp was difficult to maintain as there are a few sensors missing as you pointed out. If you could provide any pics of your install along with any part #'s for the hvac harness and temp sensors I would be very grateful. It's either this or I will continue to try to find the part number for the newer (2022+) single zone temp stack that has the volume knob along with the functions for heated seats, steering wheel etc. Thanks, Dan

Reviving this old thread once again... Do you know exactly where the right duct temperature sensor is located or how to access?
