So I have an Unlimited Sport S with the 'base' single climate zone, and Uconnect 5" display. Provided I can find part numbers - could I, in theory, order the dual climate zone control panel and the Uconnect 7" or 8.4" and swap them in? Basically - are they plug and play? I LOVE the features I did get on my JL (I like it plain!), but those are two I wouldn't mind adding down the road if possible.

The radio is plug and play. The HVAC control is also a plug and play with some programming with JScan or a Tazer, although you will need to change the Sun Sensor and add a cabin air sensor.

You will not have “Dual Zone” climate control because your Jeep does not have the needed dampers for that. It will be Automatic though.

lots of threads in the DIY section on doing this.

Thanks for the information - so if I wanted to have dual zone, could it be added with the dampers? I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap, but now it's more a curiousity than actually going to attempt it, haha!

Never really investigated doing that but I’m sure it would require replacing the entire HVAC system under the dash and maybe the dash wire harness too. Then it gets into really unknown territory with what changes would be needed in the BCM to get it to work.

Ah, I figured it wouldn't be all that easy haha - I'm sure someone will attempt it later, though!

Would you happen to know the parts I need to buy for this? the two sensors? I want to add auto climate control. I already have Jscan tool

Thanks bought the needed sensors since my vehicle was prewired for both.

One I install them do you know what do I need to do in JScan to add Automatic Clime Control functionality? So I see actual temperature when adjusting my AC/Heat instead of just Red to Blue on my screen? I obviously wont have Dual Zone because I dont have the needed dampers or the Dual Zone HVAC Control Panel. But I should be able to now have Automatic Climate Control Single Zone. I dont care so much about "automatic" controls. Just being able to see actual temps instead of just Red to Blue on my 7" screen.

My question is what do I need to do in JScan now? do I just need to go to Adaption> Miscellaneous>HVAC Config and change Single Zone MTC to Single Zone ATC and thats it? or is there more I need to do?

I did not see in that thread unless I missed it what I need to do "programming wise". My guess is I will just need to change change Single Zone MTC to Single Zone ATC

Depends on the control that you get, if it is a single zone choose Single Zone ATC. If it is dual zone choose Dual Zone ATC and click on “sync” in the climate screen so both zones temp will change with the buttons.

That control doesn’t have an Auto button so idk what will happen when you add the sensors and change the settings.

ah. I guess worse case senario ill just buy the dual zone controller. Thanks.

I was just more concerned with is Adaption> Miscellaneous>HVAC Config and change Single Zone MTC to Single Zone ATC. The ONLY things I need to change with jscan

Found this thread and we’re in a similar situation. What did you end up choosing on JSCAN? Single ATC or MTC?
