Cutting the cable isn't going to help me, it's my internet cable and cutting it is only going to hurt me and not motivate them to fix it any faster. Of course, if I wanted to be a turd about it, I could "accidentally" snag the low hanging cable and rip it off of the pole. That would be on them for leaving it dangling that low. But that is only going to reflect on me so no sense in spitting in my own face.

Not gonna lie- that would piss me off...
LOL my buddy helped me air up the other day in the rain at a gas station. It was a weird setup where the compressor has a button you have to hold down for it to pump air. The handpiece was just a clip that goes on the valve stem so you don't actually need two people like I thought at first.

Anyway of course the hose was too short if you parked in the spots next to the compressor which we did. So I aired up the two tires on the passenger side and then my buddy helpfully threw the hose over the hood (thankfully close to the windshield where all the plastic trim is) and aired up the two offside tires.

I said to him it kinda woulda been better not to drag the hose over the hood. He said well it's rubber so it should be ok :D

Came home today to a fixed cable. Looks like they upped their schedule from next week like they originally said. When I told them my kids could reach it they said they would see what they could do.

Took a different car to work and came home to this... The cable guy was moving the coax cable to a new pole on the street, which was closer to my house. Looks like he just let the extra cable droop over the jeep and in my driveway. Judging from other cables on the pole, they aren't finished and just left it. Thanks xfinity.

About 60% of people with internet service in the US get it through the cable company.....
Yeah, in my area that's the only choice we have.

I have some cedars that are growing limbs that are right near the pole, and when heavy with snow they lean against the wires. The cable company refuses to cut them, and my arborist won't go near electric wires. So it's only a matter of time before they fail. :(

If they're near the electric wires, your electric utility will almost certainly cut them if you call and tell them. Down here in Georgia the electric companies are militant about clearing any vegetation anywhere near their lines or right of way. If you're in a place with snow, I can't imagine they'd be any less stringent

Gotta be careful with the utilities "trimming" your trees. My friend had a line of 60 foot tall pines out by the road, which was also near the poles. When the trees finally started growing wide enough to get near the wires, the electric company said they were coming out to trim them away from the wires. No problem, right? When she got home from work, she found that they were just "flat-topped" 15 feet from the ground!

I've called them repeatedly, but the problem is that the electrical wires are fine, as they are higher up on the pole. The telephone and cable wires are about four feet below them, and that's where the limbs are.

We have a high wind warning here today. So far cable and electricity are fine, but a small tree did come down in my back yard, thankfully not on anything but the fence. And the fence seems ok for now. I'll wait until the warning is over before I go out there with my chainsaw. More firewood!

With a post like that you should probably be disconnected anyways.
