Took a different car to work and came home to this... The cable guy was moving the coax cable to a new pole on the street, which was closer to my house. Looks like he just let the extra cable droop over the jeep and in my driveway. Judging from other cables on the pole, they aren't finished and just left it. Thanks xfinity.

Lol, I dont actually have any kind of TV service. Its my internet cable over coax, all I can get here. I heard fiber was coming soon. I actually called and said I might need to cut the cable because it is blocking in one of my cars but I would just be shooting myself in the foot. If they're that incompetent to begin with, I'll be out internet for a month before they figure out how to fix it.

You can distribute fiber internet via coax over short distances. Coax is able to handle up/down speeds of 3 Gigs and more. It is typically used for houses that have fiber, you hook up the fiber router to the coax network in the house and all your coax outlets in your rooms now have fiber speeds.

You should see the shenanigans they do over by me. I've had a temporary main line up for about 2 or 3 years now that hangs down to a few inches over by 6' fence.

Cutting it only hurts you because you're without cable/internet for about a week or two. And that's after you have the joy of calling them requesting a new run.

I would try to fix it myself on your house end. It's a royal pain but it's more trouble to call them and have them fix it.

Par for the course with Xfinity. We had frequent problems with our cable a few years ago because it was only buried about 1.5" and neighborhood dogs would often dig up the cable and chew through it.

Xfinity would not bury the cables deeper because they were only "temporary cables," even though they had been there 6+ years.

To rub salt in the wounds, we would always have to wait a substantial number of days because Xfinity prioritized restoring service to all of the people who were disconnected for non-payment of their cable bill. Yes, you read that right. The people that don't pay their bills have priority over those that have always paid their bill on time for years.

But at least they provide you with extremely rude customer service reps to help make up for it.

That is very unprofessional by the workers and creates liability to their company. You could report it to their company as a complaint. Double check that the cable has not caused damage to your rig by being dropped on it. Look for dents and paint scrapes.

Retired, with a good income.
When we lived in Indiana, had an incident where high winds brought down a cable line so that it hung about 12 feet above and across a 2 lane road - this was around 7pm and dark.

Fearing it might get snagged or drop lower, neighbors called sheriff dept who brought a fire dept ladder truck (for height i suppose).

Fireman called the cable co and told them they needed to send out repair crew. Lady said no one available, truck would be out tomorrow To repair the line. Fireman replied, no problem we will cut the cable, get it off the road and they can string new cable tomorrow.

After a bit of silence, lady asked him not to cut the cable, repair truck would be out within the hour. Fireman was on speaker so I’m sure the lady heard all the laughing after her last response.
