I would take anything from TFL with more than a grain of salt. It wasn't even six months ago when Roman told his channel that an insider assured him that the Bronco would have a solid axle and the turbo V6 from the Aviator. He's wrong at least as often as he's right.

To his credit, Ford can take counter-espionage a bit far.

Ya, not sure what was going on with this. Not a very good informational video. I wish they shot it from the front...were the wheels spinning or was he just relaxing at the top (maybe getting instruction from red shirt guy?) of the apex (lol, sorry dunno what it’s called in off-roading)? Not saying I’d be able to do any better climbing out of that, but I would have liked a different view.

I think the first had 33” and the second was Sasquatch 35”. But he took about 4 1/2 minutes.

I doubt it was meant to be an informational video...just proof that the Bronco can do such an obstacle.

And...might want to check your math. The 2nd guy drove in at the under 7 minute mark...drove out just past 13....that's over 6 minutes.

lol...ya you're right, but he seemed to be lollygagging in the beginning so I kinda started from the bottom of the tub ...I could even drive my Golf into the tub...haha

Dude, I couldn't even watch it. I just scrolled along the bottom to get to the part when they finally extricated themselves from Mickey's.

That's literally something that should take under a minute.

Maybe it's just the heat of the day, than again I wasn't tired when I clicked on it, but I was getting lulled to sleep by red guys voice and the repeat of "turn the wheel that way". It's when the shades slid that had me up and on the edge of my seat. Lol

You haven't been there....I've seen some pretty modded rigs get wadded up just entering the tub. All it takes is to get off line a bit and your titled into the wall.

So package pricing kind kind of “leaked” or hinted at today through emails sent to reservation holders. For a base Bronco, the V6 engine is $3500 total to add automatic and the engine. The Sasquatch is set to be $5k for the base model, and prorated for higher trims. (Whether that $5k includes the required auto trans is unknown but I kind of think it does; the badlands quotes $2500 to Sasquatch which is WAY too high since the only thing it would add is the 35” tires. To have the price of the auto trans as well would make sense)

So either way, a base 2-door bronco with V6, auto trans, lockers, 35’s, bilsteins, Dana 210 front diff, hard top, 8” touch screen, A/C, power windows and power locks will be right around $38k. Not bad.

Wheels and 35 tires can easily run $3k+. $2.5k is not bad. Not good but it can be more aftermarket for sure.

There is supposedly evidence of a 2023 Bronco Raptor (via some Ford Engineer's LinkedIn post) - if it's true, who knows. But 2023 could turn into 2024, 2025, who knows...

Just slightly off-topic, but since I believe the RAM TRX was posted here (I'm not sure because this thread contains so many other Bronco threads). It seems to be confirmed by Ford Authority that the 2021 F150 Raptor will have the 5.2L Supercharged Predator engine which is currently in the GT500. 760 hp / 625 lb-ft tq. I mean, who really cares...RAM releases a truck with big HP, Ford does, not sure where Chevy is, hmm...maybe soon. Been going on since what? The 60's? Haha, buy what you like.

Which is likely why they hired the Red Rock 4 Wheelers guide to make sure they didn't do anything embarrassing for the brand by picking a bad line.

OR wait until there's water in the tub to begin with. lol It makes the feature a tad more difficult.

Jim Farley, CEO of Ford starting Oct 1, is a marketing guru. But, based on what I’ve seen so far, I believe he has pushed Bronco’s marketing hype too far.

Ford has raised expectations so high, and the date when people are going to be able to actually buy a Bronco is so far, that there’s now a lot of room for disappointment to set in.

Yup, everything in that video is true. But I’m not sure that any of these videos say “hey, the Bronco is better than the Wrangler”.

I agree with the four minute mark comment but let’s all remember that before this came out everyone was saying the Bronco would be a pavement princess and it appears that it happens to be a lot more capable than anyone anticipated.

Ford is marketing this thing to no end, which car company wouldn’t? Maybe it won’t be the most diehard rock crawler and the hype surely will die down in the 10 months of waiting (June delivery) but it will be a big seller for Ford. ...as long as the prices are reasonable.

Marketing is one thing. But you have to admit what Ford is doing with Bronco is a bit excessive. More so when the thing won’t even be available for another year.

Ford is creating such a “perfect ideal” of Bronco, that the expectations it is generating is only bound to disappoint when the product finally arrives. This would be true no matter what the product was.

Like TFL points out, this “Bronco Nation,” which Ford is creating under the guise of a “community of Bronco owners,” is in reality a factory-sponsored online community. This is the kind of marketing gimmick Jim Farley was known to do with great success when he ran Scion.

This is not 2002 any more, though. Websites like TFL didn't exist back then; the public has become more savvy —and cynical— of “internet influencers.” These are old, jaded off-roaders being asked to pay $65,000 for a lifestyle truck, not impressionable teenagers being marketed a $12,000 Toyota clone.

True, there’s always a large part of the buying public that will fall for the boxy styling and the marketing hype, but the off-roaders who shape that image are going to want to drive this thing themselves, under real conditions.

Of course the videos want to show the bronco is better or at minimum able to compete with wrangler. Why else do the rubicon of all trails. BTW I did it in my 2 door with 32 inch michelins. lol

With IFS which is a disappointment to anyone who knows about and does technical offroad, so yeah the vehicle is much better suited to mall crawling. That is mostly what is thought of with IFS, not it being a ford or whatever.

Waiting for the obligatory "but most dont care about off roading anyway" comments. lol Yet ford isnt showing the rig at the malls. So despite what people use the vehicle for they do care about what it is capable of. Ford is trying to show people that it will do what a jeep can do. It's all marketing and very smart of ford to do.

I predict when the bronco is actually used it will be better than a 4 runner, and FJ, but will fall well short of what a jeep can do and ease of modification ONLY because of IFS. I want to be wrong here. It would be great if it were as good as an SFA along with the other benefits IFS has over a SFA. But no, it's likely no unicorn.

The REAL fun with the bronco is going to be that motor and handling at speed off road. It's going to be a hoot.
