Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

Power seats are not that important, but seat memory is the game changer if you switch drivers so often.

Funny thing about this is that my wife and I are practically the same height. All our cars right now have power memory seats and we never use them because we both use the same settings! Knowing the Rubicon we have on order only has manual seats wasn’t even an issue.

Pretty impressive IMO, 400 ft lbs of torque would be nice on my JL 10 spd AT also a big plus although the JL AT is one of the best I've driven.
Pretty cool running 35s from the factory w/ a 10 spd that you could use all the gears out of the box!
Only the 2 dr looks proper though, at least to me, and a 12" info screen, wow!

The torque is very impressive and turbos deliver performance at high altitudes...unlike a NA motor. The 2.7 turbo in my wife’s Edge is very strong at high altitudes, unlike the 3.6 which is a dog in the same environment. I purchased the 2.0l in my JL for high altitudes. Another 110 ftlbs of torque would be awesome...

Both option. My new 2020 two door manual JL is a great toy to tinker with In the garage for off-road adventures and to tow behind the RV but that’s it. it’s totally exhausting to drive on road trips.
I’m ordering a new 4 door Bronco for the wife to replace her aging Grand Cherokee Overland hemi fuel sucking boat of a suv.
We bought her the new overland thinking it would be a great little suv like her previous 2000, 2002 and 2004 Grand cherokees but the newer ones are massive, heavy, slow and ridiculously inefficient. The old 4.7 HOV8 was a great motor with tons of torque, the 5.7 Hemi is surprisingly way underpowered in these new ones. When we bought it we didn’t think it would drive like a big Tahoe or expedition so it’s never became one of those “great” or “fun” vehicles we expected it to be.
I’m thinking the new Bronco will be just the right size for a small one child family like ours.

Even if in the vehicle-to-vehicle comparison the Bronco won out (I don't think it does, but that's subjective), life is way too short to deal with Ford and its dealers on a new/desirable model.

Tonight’s reveal gave us another capable off-roader that, unfortunately, will have the majority of sold units likely never seeing anything but asphalt - lots of mods and maybe a gravel driveway at most. This further proves it’s not about getting “out there” but merely the idea of it.

The more I read, the more I realize it’s not about the vehicles’ capabilities or shortcomings; rather it is a reflection of us as drivers and how we transport ourselves through life.

I may be new to Jeep and to the forum but I’m not new to getting “out there”. I’ll wave to fellow Wranglers but damn, I’ll smile at any off-roader out here with me. That’s not a Jeep thing, that’s a “just happy to out here” thing.

The wrangler has had the only game in town for years, are you saying dealing with Jeep and Jeep dealers has been pleasant?

Wonder if this introduction may change Jeep dealer behaviour. Looking at some forums on this site, it seems many Jeep dealers were straight up jerks because they knew there is no other competition from another manufacturer.

Amen to that. The Wrangler buying process I have personally experienced over the last 3 months has honestly taken all the fun out of it for me. It's hard to pay such a high premium for what amounts to being a pretty small 2-door car and kinda get treated like the dealership is doing you a favor by letting you buy one. Maybe that's more so because I wanted to build mine, but that was my experience. To top it off, unbeknownst to me, the day I emailed my salesperson to place my order, it was the last day for 2020's. He was OOTO that day and the next day, my color was discontinued, my $1500 rebate gone and the price of the car with my options went up by $450. Sorry to whine, but it was a major kick in the groin and stung pretty bad. I am still wanting a Rubicon but waiting to see if they add a blue.

The Bronco looks interesting..... I could be swayed perhaps.

It is sooo ugly. No kidding. I'm looking at this 4 door and just slowly shaking my head. The interior is hideous.

The exterior is hideous.

It is supposed to compete with the Wrangler... with IFS?

And the sad part is... Ford loyalists are going to buy the hell out of it. Because they would rather buy a dumpster fire with a blue oval than a space shuttle.

It's going to get hype. It's going to be a success, and it's God awful.
