BTW, I go on Bronco6G.com forums every now and then just to get a kick.

Bronco owners are treated like dirt both by Ford and by its dealers, to the point that I feel good about my miserable Jeep dealer... ?
You speak the truth - dirt.

I finally gave up on my age-old Bronco order and ordered a Wrangler a couple weeks ago. At this point even if the Bronco gets built first I'll probably stick with the Wrangler on principle - I'm a nerdy software engineer and I can communicate better than Ford can with their dealers and customers.

Still technically have a 4 door eruption green outer banks w/ sas ordered.
But ford screwed the pooch so bad I’m getting my long dreamed of wrangler instead. I’ll likely be happier with it in the long run.
Still like the broncos tho.

CarPlay crashes using USB2 in the center console. Disappointed this problem has been happening for 4 years and is still not ironed out, but I’ll live if the dealer can’t fix it when I drop it off tomorrow.
I had this problem (I have a wireless CarPlay adapter plugged into USB2) and it ended up being the cable that came with my Wireless CarPlay adapter went bad. I bought a new one and now it is good as new.

Ford did kill it. It’s a great vehicle and Eruption green is the coolest color right now. But in two years when these things are all over the place like JL’s, I think the Jeep will be cooler. I guess I’m biased now too though.

For sure.
Might revisit the idea of owning a bronco in the future. But as of right now it isn’t worth waiting 2 years and paying 10K over MRSP for a vehicle with quality control issues.
There are so many good ideas at work in the bronco. I love the look. But yeh.

I totally agree. The soft top and the removable doors are both badly executed. Both were rather obviously designed by people who had never done either, which makes sense: Ford employees probably aren’t living with a Wrangler. I’d be pretty disappointed if I had ordered and ended up with what I got. Granted I wouldn’t have ordered the spec that I bought, but still. It’s a 90% to production vehicle which is seen most clearly in both the hard and soft top issues.

But, they killed it on styling and 90% of Broncos will be driven by moms to the mall and will never have the doors off and rarely the top down. Ford’s issue is that they are almost entirely revamping their fleet in a very short amount of time and can’t get anything to market fast or put together enough. The maverick might be the exception. That is an excellent vehicle for what it is.

The only way I’d consider a Bronco is If ford seriously revises the front suspension and offers a front Dana 30 or 44 option. But I seriously doubt they will ever do that. Until then, it’s nowhere near a competitor with the wrangler in any offroad sense.. just my opinion

I still like the Bronco, want to see one up close and drive one. I can see getting one to daily drive if money was no object and keep it stock. I have no doubt it will drive better on the road. Plus it tows more, but the Defender is hands down better in that area… Which I also feel is a better competitor to the Bronco.

To me, they look better in person than in pictures. I do enjoy the ride of the Bronco - spent a whole day in Moab driving one off-road.

Bronco is limited to towing 3,500 lbs, just like Wrangler.

If Ford were to do that, Bronco would have no USP any more.

Ford anchored Bronco’s differentiation from Wrangler entirely around the “benefits” of IFS.

It‘s the same 3,500 for the 2 door. My Jeep is 2,000, 2 door Bronco is 3,500 just like the 4 door.

2 Door 4 Life!

EDIT:
Just for fun, the Defender 90 has a towing capacity of 7,700.

The problem is the IFS is not up to the task for even what moderate off-roading requires. One of the reasons I sold my lifted 2019 Ranger. It has the same trash IFS and steering setup as the Bronco. I’m a ford guy but I’m not blindly loyal. I had high hopes for the Bronco. Buy here I am with a JLUW. Lol.

Lunar rock has to be the coolest car on a sub $100k production vehicle. I don't know how Toyota's can be so lifeless to drive yet come up with the best color options.
I remember a time when Toyota did build exciting cars. You had the mid engined MR2 (2nd gen turbo is still a looker), the ever popular and potent Supra, and even the rally bred Celica All Trac. I was glad when they teamed with Subaru to finally bring back that fun to drive spirit they seemed to have lost over the years. Now with the return of the new Z4, I mean Supra, things may be looking up for those who miss Toyota's racing history.

All bronco models have Dana 44's front and rear. The fronts just have cv axle shafts instead of the plug welded tube and wheel end assembly.

Still, I agree that they're far off from a solid design that prioritizes on road comfort but can stand up to the leverage of larger tires, much less offroad use. If they cut out some of those cost adding gimmicky features and put some of that resource towards a long arm ifs setup, they'd have a real offroad contender. It still wouldn't have the same amount of potential articulation as a solid axle, but it could be a hell of a lot stronger than the current miata-esque sized setup. And I'm not talking about Trophy truck, but more of a slightlybwatered down civilian version of the ifs in Ultra 4 cars.
