Nice! I've had my eye out for a passenger side Pivot v2 for awhile now but haven't seen any in stock. I've been told arrival in mid-Sept.. I have a v1 that I'll probably sell since I use it all of the time and like all of the improvements. If you think the v2 is heavy, the v1 is 8.5lbs heavier!

Yes, I gave up on waiting for the passenger side when I took a look at etrailers site and they had the backorder bumped out to the first week of December. But it turns out I really like the driver's side action, except as I mentioned if you have to pull off the road for some emergency reason. Otherwise, this thing is awesome.

I can't imagine it being any heavier tho!

That is an interesting rack. With the bikes on the rack and The rack rotated down, can you swing the tailgate open?

Yes, I'll try to get some more pictures today

That is a big win.

looks like they only make 4 and 6 bike options. i only need 2 bikes mounted...
I would probably go with something like the 1up if I were only going to haul 2. With 4 bikes those tray-type racks end up sticking out 10 feet.

Another vote for the Küat Pivot v2. I love my Küat rack, but it was useless on the Wrangler. You can't even open the tailgate with bikes off and the rack folded down. I tried a 4" drop, but it still didn't clear. The pivot totally solves this problem!

Beware, they are available in either driver's or passenger's side pivot direction.

My passenger's side unit had been COVID backordered for 3 months, but finally a batch of driver's side units became available on Amazon, so I pounced. I actually think I like it better because the tailgate and bikes are totally separated when open, making everything that much cleaner and easier to access. The only downside I can think of is if you need to pull over in an emergency and access the rear, in which case your bikes could be out in traffic if you pull to the right shoulder. Otherwise, this is a solid win.

Pros:
- Means you can carry bikes on your Wrangler *and* have access to the rear.
- Extremely well made.
- Will accept any 2" receiver bike carrier.
- Has 90-deg positive detent, and then also opens to 120-deg but without detent
- Extremely simple setup -- super solid build and brilliant design.
- Doesn't foul on the factory recovery hook.
- Doesn't look dumb or clunky (my opinion, obviously).

Cons:
- Expensive
- Heavy. Like, really heavy.
- Küat logo upside down on my driver's side unit. WTF Küat?

From the photos it looks like with the Kuat pivot you don’t need a hitch extension. Is that correct? Also how much clearance is there between the bottom of the spare and the pivot? thanks

On the budget side for hitchmount racks I've heard good things about the Quadratec one and one made by Allen. I've been using the spare mounted one by hollywood racks to carry my MTB, but it feels a bit sketchy. I am undecided between roofrack or hitch. I've never been to a MTB trail that requires high clearance so I am probably gonna go hitch mounted.

This is my solution to carrying a mountain bike off-road without compromising the departure angle. The tailgate easily opens with the bike mounted, I can enter the garage with the bike mounted, no rattling or movement.
LoD bumper and tire carrier, custom LoD bike carrier arms, quickfist fasteners.
