I know there are "pavement princesses", mall crawlers, out whatever else you would like to call them out there. While driving to work this morning, I was wondering... how many guys (or gals) out there park/store their Jeep for the winter? Much as you would see with a sports car, a collectors car, etc. I know there are some but that's something I haven't seen (yet) on this forum.

I don't think that I could personally do it, although it isn't my daily driver. While I would LOVE to keep the Jeep out of the salt, it would burn me knowing I have the most capable vehicle (that I've owned) sitting in the garage all winter. :giggle:

Over foot of snow last night. So yeah main reason for owning a Wrangler.
You guys probably don't get the heavy salt/gravel though? The other part of me is dying to go rip through drifts with the 392.

I've only ever driven my old Sahara in the snow, and it actually did very well. I didn't anticipate those (stock) tires to perform like they did.

Yes we get tons of gravel and sand, will lose a windshield every winter or spring. Get chips around grill area from rocks and such.

They put a slurry on the highways it uses some type of salt, just keep it washed in the winter never had a problem. Mostly sand in town though.

But yeah Wranglers are great and far more useful than crawling over a rock in the desert! :)

So if I had to get up and drive to Valdez or Fairbanks this morning after a foot or something snow I would never be worried about getting there.

392 is a bit different beast though.

I live in the Northeast, Salt galore in the winters

Have a 2024 392 on order.

My current JLUR is daily driven all year round and wheeled on rocks.

As soon as my 392 comes in, it's getting skid plates/armor and will not only be driven in full salt/winter, daily driven and family second vehicle but will be wheeled in the rocks in the winter etc.

Yeah, and unfortunately the better the vehicle is for adverse conditions... the more apt it is to destroy itself in the process. :CWL:

I want photos of that landscape this winter. A bit jealous of the paradise you have right in your backyard, though I'm sure there are people who say the same for mine. ?

One of my personal complaints is no one has touch up paint pens for the little chips on the front of Jeep. Grill is not a big deal but the hood edge is generally where it chips anyway.

Yeah for sure, but this is the first big snow. Everyone will have forgot how to drive in snow right now! Haha will stay home until afternoon once all the ditch divers are weened out.

My JKR is my off-road toy. It gets driven in the winter, but never when there is salt on the roads.

I drive my Selec-Trac equipped JT Mojave all winter in all conditions. The Selec-Trac is great in the snow, but it definitely isn't as good in the snow as the 2 other DD cars in the fleet, 2017 & 2022 CX-5s with dedicated snow tires.

Have you tried just the small bottle with an applicator? That is what I always use.
The paint pens are sloppy at best; you have little control over where the material goes (or of the amount).

Mine isn’t driven during the winter. With that said, I don’t baby it.

Snow tires are often overlooked. Most people will flock to the 4WD or AWD, when that makes little difference if the tires are garbage. Then comes in the fact that a person has to know how to drive. ?‍♂

Not a bad idea. Yeah the chips on the hood are down to the primer. I would like to fill them in at least.

I've used those (not those exact ones, but similar) for years after I got tired of dealing with the mess from the brushes or pens. Blob the paint in to where it completely fills the void (chip). You'll have a paint nipple but leave it. The paint will self-level as it dries and you can apply a second time if needed. I would also recommend doing it in semi-decent temperatures.
