Is it bad to drive without an axle nut on the front? Dealer didn't seem to think it was a big deal.

Are you talking about the axle nut or lug nut? You absolutely can not drive without the axle nut, but you can drive without a lug nut (for a short distance anyway).

how long are we talking about? The unit bearing is sealed. I wouldn’t wheel It but for a couple days I think it would be ok. Obviously not ideal but end of the world

Would i drive off the trail and limp home with out an axle nut......Yes.

If a dealer told me that was ok for 4500 miles i would look at them like they had a horn growing out of the center of their forhead. Why will they not just put a nut on or simply replace the axle?

Takes two weeks to get a nut they said, I feel like I shouldve got a loaner, since it was a factory foul up

That many miles is surprising without any issues. Maybe they changed there design. I know GM's do not need the axle to keep the bearing together. But as far as I knew Dodge and Jeep needed the axle

The axle shaft isn’t really going anywhere. It’s not ideal but certainly not the end of the world. You’ve driven it for 4500 miles and they are assuming all the risk should any damage happen between now and then. I might have some around the shop but we’re gone till early August

The "wheel bearing" is a unitized hub, these days. Has been for many years.
The "nut" holds the axle in its lateral position so the axis of the stub axle U-joint is in line with the knuckle balljoints. If the nut isn't present, the axle can migrate inboard a small amount and some bind the U-joint. The axles cannot come outboard.
