Don't say that. I'm not in the mood for a service appt.
I get it. But it does seem like the ambient light sensor on top of the instrument panel is wanky. Mine is very sensitive (too sensitive). On a bright day, if I drive under some trees after a few seconds, the headlights will come on.

Hope you get this resolved. :)

At the risk of getting a stapler thrown at me, have you always had “auto-dim” disabled and the update turned it on? Do you usually have the lights set to low beam and perhaps accidentally left them or bumped them into high, netting the message that your lights are changing automatically?

If I recollect things right (still on first coffee), that message pops up when your high beams are on and your mirror senses incoming headlights. When that occurs, it drops the headlights to the low beams and flashes the message. Once it quits sensing incoming headlights, it kicks the beams back up to high.

If your Jeep is not configured for this feature but the women and old men at the dealer flashed your ride with the wrong software, that can confuse your EVIC system.

If you set your high beams to low manually and leave it there, does the message stop?
If you turn the lights from auto to off does the message stop?
If you disable auto-dim in the settings, does the message stop?
If you’ve finished off a six-pack and already traded off the Jeep for a Grand Wagoneer, auto-dim comes standard…..

I think there is some confusion with how the system works and the difference between auto headlamps and auto-dim high beam control.

In order for the auto-dim high beam function to work, the light switch has to be set to "Auto" which uses the light sensor to turn the headlights (not high beams) on and off.

The issue is the light sensor is turning on the headlights which in turn displays the auto-dim high beam message on the instrument cluster since the auto-dim high beam function is enabled. If the setting for auto-dim high beam is disabled in the radio/uConnect settings, the auto-dim high beam message would not be displayed.

if you "turn off" auto-dim high beam using the turn signal stalk you will still see the message when the headlamps turn on but the message would state disabled instead of enabled.

It better be bourgeoisie or drippin'!
She can get bougie and her nails done in 2 hours with all the nail tech. All of the nail salons have those UV Gel nail dryers. Personally I would like to be a fly on the wall when she confronts the service advisor about why her auto high-beam headlights are possessed after their update.

Wait. Hold up.

I don't have auto high beams on my Jeep and I miss it. Are there auto wipers also? If so...I'm trading for a new Jeep. I have both on my car and I hate not having them on my Jeep.

I had auto wipers and auto high beams on my '19 Mustang. HATED the auto wipers, loved the auto high beams.

Funny, I miss auto wipers more.
Could have been my particular car. To me, the setting was FAR too sensitive. Even on the lowest sensitivity, the wipers would go on far too frequently, at least for me. A light mist and more often than not they would go onto the high wipe speed, which drove me nuts.

... or on an uphill into sunlight, activate for a dry wipe, smearing the windshield, now blinded with diffuse sunlight...

You're operating a vehicle, so operate, actually look into the lane before you enter, add heat/ac/fan, wipers when needed. Managing automatic items is more work than just doing it.

I don't work for a bloated window sticker list.

Did the last update screw something up?
What does the Uconnect website say when you check to see if you need an update?
https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html

Also, have you turned off and then turned back on the auto hi beam option through the uconnect screen to see if it is somehow just hung up?

Oh, and the Uconnect update can be serious to the health of your vehicle. Two days after downloading an Uconnect update on my wife's Cherokee, the check engine light came on. The same day the Service Start/Stop warning light illuminated.

Within two weeks her Cherokee had to have a new engine installed. I'm blaming all the issues on the Uconnect update that was installed.
