I don’t have a pic of the message but I’m sure the message is the same for all the 2018’s, when I first open the door to get in I get a pop up message in the dash cluster that says something like step on the break and buckle up, it pops up right where the speedo is, anyway after you get in and close the door and start it goes away and then after you shut it off and get out it pops up again and then after closing the door goes off by itself, well sometimes it will take 2-3mins for it to go out well today it would not go out and stayed lit for like 45 mins so I thought maybe a door was ajar but that was not the case so I started it and just drove to the mail box and back and it’s all fine now so I am curious if there is some type of setting I can use to turn of the message completely as I am concerned if it stays on the battery will be drained.

Do you have the proximity entry system? I have a Grand Cherokee but if i get close to the Jeep it "sees" the fob and will light up the display as you describe. Try checking the display without the key on you. If you don't have the proximity system then i'm not sure. HTH

Still waiting on my JLRU, but saw this and it looks vaguely familiar to Ford I had a number of years ago. I posted the below in a different thread, but the display staying on at random intervals when the car was shut off and key out was one of the things that it would do. Might be a long shot that the problem is the same/similar, but on the 2011 Ford it was a partially failed battery (I completely never would have expected that, I went for over a year thinking there was a random short in that car).

--

I would second this, as I had a bad battery on a new 2011 Ford Explorer. For around 18 months when it was brand new, it would do bizarre things; lights would turn on when the vehicle was parked & off, random messages would appear on the dashboard and go away, the door open chime would go off randomly, battery dead/saver notifications, etc. I thought the cars ECU was shot, or that there was some sort of weird electrical short. Took it to the dealer a few times, they could never reproduce the issues as they were totally random. I did have video of some of the issues, but they didn't seem to care if they couldn't actually reproduce it.

Around 18 months in I ended up replacing the battery myself, as the original battery was terrible after being drained so many times. Instantly, we never had another related issue on the car (had it another 3-4 years after that). I second the bad battery theory, as they do happen, and produce strange issues.

At first I thought it was because I left the fob in the vehicle but I always leave it in there since it’s garage kept so I removed the fob and used it to lock the doors and went in the house with the fob and it still stayed on even after 2-3 mins so then I just stared it normally after opening and closing every door and back door to ensure they were closed tight and took a short trip to the mail box and back and then just shut it off and closed the door and it went off after a minute, this happened one other time but only stayed lit for 2-3 mins and went out, I don’t have the proximity entry feature and no warning or error messages of any sort so maybe just a onboard computer glitch ?

Here is a pic of the message I had that minus the run status it normally goes out normally within a minute or two after shutting off and closing all the doors, I have not timed it to see how long it takes to go out but it seems to vary in time so maybe it’s just a bug but when it stayed on today for like 40 mins had me a tad concerned but it’s only done it once

Dont leave your fob in the car. It thinks you just got in and will be starting the motor. It will also drain your batty eventually. Fobs should be in your pocket.

Really, So if I leave the fob in the Jeep is bad even if I keep it in the garage ?
