I haven't read through all of the posts, so maybe this was mentioned, but if you push the turn signal stick towards the dash, it should disable the automatic high beams. Pull it back towards you and it will come back on.I'm getting this message like 100 times a day. DURING THE DAY. First it says enabled then its says some other crap, lights go on and off.Did the last update screw something up? Is my jeep the only one doing this? I never got this message before a month ago. I didn't even know I had auto high beams until all this started. It's annoying. As you can see in the pic, it's hella bright no clouds in the sky. So why are my lights coming on and off and giving me this message. I have it set to auto for the light setting....![]()

Haha. I do my own nails. And I was quiet bc I was just busy w kiddo getting her learners permit, and the consequences of that permit... (nails permanently embedded into the grab handle and i lost my voice yelling "BRAKE!!!!")... I needed a few days to gather myself...It's been too quiet. She has not replied for over 20 minutes. It would not surprise me if she shows up with a Grand Wagoneer in another hour. Make that 2 hours. She might stop to get her nails done along the way.
I think that's it...I get it. But it does seem like the ambient light sensor on top of the instrument panel is wanky. Mine is very sensitive (too sensitive). On a bright day, if I drive under some trees after a few seconds, the headlights will come on.
Hope you get this resolved.![]()
Mine has all the bells and whistles. I have always set it on auto and never messed with any other settings regarding the highbeams. At the risk of getting a stapler thrown at me, have you always had “auto-dim” disabled and the update turned it on? Do you usually have the lights set to low beam and perhaps accidentally left them or bumped them into high, netting the message that your lights are changing automatically?
If I recollect things right (still on first coffee), that message pops up when your high beams are on and your mirror senses incoming headlights. When that occurs, it drops the headlights to the low beams and flashes the message. Once it quits sensing incoming headlights, it kicks the beams back up to high.
If your Jeep is not configured for this feature but the women and old men at the dealer flashed your ride with the wrong software, that can confuse your EVIC system.
If you set your high beams to low manually and leave it there, does the message stop?
If you turn the lights from auto to off does the message stop?
If you disable auto-dim in the settings, does the message stop?
If you’ve finished off a six-pack and already traded off the Jeep for a Grand Wagoneer, auto-dim comes standard…..
I don't mind the auto highbeams... I'm just mad the lights are coming on in the daylight....bc (smh) then I can't see the uconnect screen, it goes to night setting which is too dark during the day.I haven't read through all of the posts, so maybe this was mentioned, but if you push the turn signal stick towards the dash, it should disable the automatic high beams. The issue is the headlights are turning on so the message pops up. I agree tho. The led lights are wayyyy to bright to begin with. I pointed them further down bc I hate blinding oncoming traffic.Who needs auto high beams option on? The LED’s are as bright as the sun. Just turn them off.
Don’t look at your dash. It’s Florida we don’t go the speed limit anyways we pace the people in front of us.The issue is the headlights are turning on so the message pops up. I agree tho. Waste of time. My son got his drove a hand full of times and isnt interested. Kids these days don’t want to go anywhere. He’s 16 now and still not interested in driving. I ended up giving the car to someone in need when he’s ready I’ll buy another.Haha. I do my own nails. A friend has a son that scared the living daylights out of him when he was first learning how to drive. My friend hired a driving school. Some of it was anxiety and being nervous when his dad was in the car. The private driving school instruction helped a lot. I suggested my friend enroll his son into a safe-driver clinic that was hosted by our local BMW Car Club. Other car clubs have these car-control clinics also. The BMW Club has specific programs for teens and new drivers. Made his son a much more confidant and better driver. His son is a very good driver now. The driving events also sparked intrest in more drivng type events. They both plan on doing some more driving events together in the future. It's a Win-Win for them.Haha. I do my own nails. Yes! I was just teaching my kiddo that! Why on earth would I teach her to walk in heels when I know she's going to be wearing flip flops- it's the same theory in my book. I teach her to drive the way she will be driving without me... Florida style ?Don’t look at your dash. It’s Florida we don’t go the speed limit anyways we pace the people in front of us.
It got a most unfortunate name (thx to the forum) but I really love it. People take pics of it everywhere...including our driveway. And she had a borla type s exhaust installed (smh). She is thrilled. He driving instruction is going well. It's Florida so she has been driving since 13 starting w go carts and golf carts and my jeeps... just needs a lil more braking love on the open streets. I teach her to drive safely in the same manner she will be driving without me. With music, with interruptions, not at the speed limit, with the top down blocking her view, with the horrible drivers from up north and the scary over 75 Florida drivers. Teenage road rage is hilarious ?. I also yell when she forget to jeep wave or wave at our police officers. And median jumping. She's got that down. She will be skipping school all week for jb22 and I'm hoping she learns a lot of hands on jeep instruction there.A friend has a son that scared the living daylights out of him when he was first learning how to drive. How did her Wrangler turn out?
I don't live in that reality. Round her the kids go out to dinner and are always at someone's house... not to mention living at the beach/boardwalk hanging out and surfing. She's not home 50% of the time now- including school nights. My parents don't understand why she has so much freedom, but as long as she stays on the upper end of the honor roll and prefers crop tops and sweat pants to hoochie mama clothing, I let her do as she pleases.Waste of time.
