I have a 2019 JLUR I bought used. Everything works fine and is in excellent shape. It has the Safety Group and Advanced Safety Group with Adaptive Cruise Control. I used the Tazer Mini to turn on the feature in Lighting to have the Automatic Hi/Low Beam feature work. I then went to the Lighting feature in the Settings screen in the 8.4 UConnect screen to put a check mark in the box to have this work. The check mark stays in the box for a second or two and then goes away. I can't find anything else about this feature and what I might be missing. I am wondering if there was some kind of mid-year update for 2019s that maybe my Jeep missed out on.

I have a 21 with same options……auto high beam isn’t an included feature.

If you had to use a Taser to enable it then chances are your Jeep doesn't have the hardware.
Unless you installed the hardware then use the taser to enable it that's a different thing. But if you just seen the option in the taser menu and enabled it thinking you could make it work that's not going to happen.

I appreciate the comments and feedback. I assumed all the year models with the Advanced Safety Group and LED Lighting Package came with the automatic hi/low beam feature. Your comments made me do a little more Internet research and I found a website that provides you a window sticker if you have the VIN. (Amazingly, it was a free service.) Anyway, the window sticker did confirm that this Jeep doesn't have this feature. Too bad.

It doesn't work that well I promise. It shines on the back of a sign at night flips your high beams off or if you come around a curve with an oncoming car the high beams would like flip off then flip on then flip off again. It was bad enough it was just another feature I ended up disabling.

I'm assuming this is a feature that may be useful for those with the halogen headlamps, but I can't really see any better with high beams on. Maybe it's just me, but I fail to see any real difference with the high beams on aside from MAYBE a little more definition in the peripheral illumination, which really only helps with making some road signs easier to read. Otherwise, I run my LEDs on Low beams all the time as I really don't see much difference over the low beams.

I was just about to say how disappointed I was was with the feature, dims the lights for random reasons like posted above.

That's weird. Mine works fine. It's a little less likely to get false positives than my wife's Mercedes, but hers does a really cool smooth transition between high and low.

I had a cluster fail in a 2018 base model JL without auto high beans, and the cluster that we installed ended up being for a 2021 JT with auto high beams somehow. No idea where the mix up happened. Anyway the cluster would state service automatic high beams once you turned the vehicle on with no codes whatsoever. STAR had to figure that one out, as all the cluster remans come from various jeeps over the years and are just programmed with different software depending on the application.

I don't know if there's a way to retroactively add the feature I'm afraid, as the cluster was properly proxi-aligned and it still threw the warning message.

Anyway, 2021 was an odd year for a lot of manufactures where some key functions were being left out of vehicles due to the chip shortage. I suspect this is what happened for you sadly
