The "shift to park then desired gear" message might be when my over 4 year old main battery was going bad, battery read 11.4v before replacing it. Check your electrical system first... battery should read 12.5v or higher when. Don't know if the message was because of battery, transmission issue or both.
Appreciate your responses. I'm at 81k miles, so I'm out of warranty. I just wasn't sure if the presence of a TSB for the issue extended warranty coverage for the repair. It's getting to the point that I'll take it to the dealer soon regardless.

I had my main battery replaced about two years ago, so I doubt that's a cause in my case. I'm getting all of the symptoms discussed in this thread - hard shift from gears 3-4, unable to shift into reverse, and it throws a CEL about 50% of the time. It goes away after a couple startups but comes back. It certainly seems like the same issue you and others experienced.

Quick update on this. Service tech at the dealer confirmed I have the D Clutch failure which would be a covered repair under the TSB linked earlier. But... apparently the B Clutch is also failing, and that is not a repairable component. They are recommending replacement of the transmission because of the B Clutch failure.

Very frustrating, as even the tech said "if it was just the D Clutch, Jeep sends us a kit to replace that". I have reached back out to @JeepCares to go over some options.

I'm afraid I'm having the same issue with my 2020 2 Door Rubicon. I'm at 27K miles, but unfortunately 6 months past my 5yr warranty point. (such a bummer!)

Note: I did need an aux battery replacement ~3K ago (which blew the main fuse so that got replaced at that time in addition to both batteries) - can you tell I'm hoping this is an electrical setting and not an actual transmission issue?

Here's what I'm experiencing. The shift from 3rd to 4th seems like it delays and then shifts rough. When I shift into reverse if takes a little longer than usual to go into gear and then is a little rough. In general around 25-30 miles an hour is seems like it can't find the right gear and is sort of wishy-washy... I got a CEL and Adaptive Cruise Control warning light, but both went away after a couple restarts. Yesterday I got the CEL again and was able to read the code as P0733-00

I have an appointment to take the Jeep to a transmission place because I've been really disappointed in the level of knowledge of my local Jeep Service Department. Basically, I don't trust them to touch anything that may be expensive -- which is too bad. I've always gone to dealer for service on all my other cars from all other brands (and still do on those others).

Question for the group: Is there ANY chance I'm not looking at an expensive repair? I'd hate to see a transmission rebuild at 27K on a Jeep that has been driven super carefully and much loved. Any thoughts on things I can explore?

Comments welcome. Thanks All.

Thanks to Jeep Cares for the help. My Jeep has been repaired at the dealer. They replaced the D clutch, and so far, after three days of driving, the previous transmission shifting issue has not reoccurred. The photo is the dealer's report — I hope it can be helpful to others.

Update: Dealer confirmed. I need a whole new transmission at 27,300 miles. uggh. This really stinks! Jeep Cares was really quick to reply to my original post and have been really helpful so far. I really hope they can help in some way... I love my Jeep but I'm really disappointed to need such a $$$ replacement of a transmission at 27K miles when I'm not even halfway to the first routine maintenance.

PS - thanks to those who have reached out with support and kind words.
