Hello!
I'm following the same pattern from my dealership for the same issues. I just got my jeep back from having the valve body replaced. Did it temporarily fix the problem for you? The shifting is a lot better between 3rd and 4th, but it's a little funky in 2nd now!

Here we are in 2024. My 2020 wrangler started to do the same thing. A loud jerk when I put in reverse. It also slips gear 3-4. Left me stranded last week. Luckily engine light was on and gave codes, so diagnosis was fast. However, I get the call telling me its the transmission and there is no ETA currently for a replacement transmission. I have to pay $300+ a week for a rental....currently on week number two.

Same problem with my 2020 Wrangler JL Sahara. They did the valve body and finally replaced the transmission. No more loud bang shifting into reverse, no more stuck in 2nd gear, and no more check engine light.

I had no warranty as i put 30,000 miles a year on the vehicle, but concerned as its been 20,000 miles since the transmission swap and i'm starting to notice the same patterns that evolved into replacing the transmission. Whole thing cost me 10k to fix and this was on top of paying 1k a month in car payments. rough 2023 year.

Fast forward to this year and now i have rust bubbling under the paint on drivers front door and passenger side rear door, and the hood. Car is not even paid off yet and its rusting, insane. Car is not even 4 years old. My 2014 Grand Cherokee is 10 years old and no rust at all and still humming with 250k miles on it.

Quality of work on paint prep is unacceptable. Being told that they will have the wrangler for 3-5 weeks to do the body work and its covered under the 5 year paint corrosion warranty.

You would think all of this would be a massive recall or lemon law case.

I got my jeep back and its been fine shifting for about 5 weeks. All of a sudden yesterday I have noticed that shifting into reverse is getting louder.

Add me to the list… exact same issues: violent shift i to reverse, and problems shifting from 3rd to 4th. 2020 JLUR… it’s been at the dealer for 2 days and the texted me this evening and said it needs a new transmission… hopefully the warranties cover it…

Add another to the list. Noticed the issue late last year. Took it to the dealer at 56k miles. Dealer said they had to reset the transmission so it relearns how my wife drives. Don't know exactly what they did, but here’s we are now at 63k miles: shifting super hard from drive to reverse and from second to third. Service engine light came on yesterday. Took it to auto parts store to have code read. Third gear spacing incorrect. Back out to dealer. Dealer says past 60k powertrain warranty…hopefully Jeep does the right thing and I do not have a fight on my hands. Super frustrating.

Hopefully they take care of it. Corporate handled mine since I was well under 60k. Even though the dealership opened the claim, I still called corporate personally about the issue and they assigned me a rep.

Now I'm dealing with the cold start rotational squeaking sound from rear and also death wobble (steering damper replaced 2 times). I like my jeep, but man this is a bit much.

They agreed to take care of it. Dealer wants $500 for some reason. Told them to go for it!!

they need to bring back the 4.0L HO and AX-15/AW4....they were bulletproof and problem free.

So I have 70k miles. I have an additional warranty, “First Mile Service Contract”, and they are going to take care of it, but they will only cover a remanufactured transmission. If I want new, I have to pay the difference. I told them let’s do the ReMan, cuz I don’t want to pay out of pocket… I don’t know if this is really fair, but my understanding is that ReMan is a used case with new guts… idk…

I wanted new too, but they said no. Then a friend told me the deal with transmissions. In most cases, the only time the transmission is really new is in a brand new car from factory. Outside of that, alot of time it's just a rebuilt transmission with all new parts. I'm still under manufacture warranty and mine is CPO so I didn't argue to much with corporate. I just wanted my jeep back.
