I have an occasional scraping metallic noise from the front end when in 4 high or 4 low. The noise occurs when the front end dips. It will occur when driving or braking. The noise does not occur in 2 high. I’ve checked and can’t see any tire rubbing. It almost sounds like a rotor scraping but again does not occur in 2 high.
I have a 2021 JLURD with 20k miles.
It’s odd because I was off road doing maybe 5 mph and with a small dip in the trail when the noise first occurred. I’ve done numerous trails before before and not had this noise.
I’ve recently added skid plates and steel bumpers from and rear. But can’t see how they would have an affect.
Again, there is no noise when on road in 2 high at any speed or road condition.
We’ve been hitting trails in Colorado and Utah the past 10 days and will be heading for home in Arizona. Once there I’ll crawl underneath and look for any evidence of what might be causing the sound.
Any ideas before I take it to my dealer who has always done great service on my wrangler.
