Far more 4 door owners are happy with their 4.10s and 35's than the few might have you think. I'd be willing to bet the numbers are 20-1 of people running 35's on 4.10s vs 4.88's. There's just no need, especially with the auto. The 1st gear is so much lower than it was in the JK that you'd have to gear a JK to 5.38 to get the same 1st gear ratio of a stock JLUR. Bottom line we have a much lower 1st gear and a much higher 2nd Overdrive so you can literally run just about any gear ratio and tire combination and it will still be better all around than a JK. A JK would need 3.31's to match the Overdrive ratio of a JL with 4.10s. Geared taller than the charts (based off much more limiting transmissions) recommend?Doesn't matter, thanks to the low 1st gear. Geared much lower? The double Overdrive still makes it reasonable at freeway speed. Long gone are the days where you either geared for the trails or for the freeway. The 8 speed let's you do both, almost regardless of axle gearing.Reading through this and assuming this is all about the 4 Door? 2 Door Rubi owners seem happy with 4.10s and 35s.?
