I have the 3.6 Auto. 37” tires and 4.10 Rubicon. Very happy with the gearing. Surprisingly quick
What kind of 37s?

I drive a 2dr, 2.0 T, Auto, with 4.11 and 35 KM3. It's just fine with 4.11 and not worth the money to change at this time. Now, if I could do them on the cheap with a buddy I would likely install 4.56. If my geographic location was mountainous and I was pulling a small trailer, I would install 4.88.

Hope that helps.

Lot’s of modded Jeeps on the lots these days. Maybe test drive a similar/desired combo? Opinions can’t replace a “seat of the pants“ experience. I have a 6MT on heavy 34’s, which I know is far from optimal. However, I seldom traverse a speed limit over 50, so my 6 speed now turned 4 speed is acceptable . . . for ME and MY usage.

If you’re trading in for other reasons the 4.10’s are good. They’ll do fine, even if occasionally they annoy you. Doubly so with the 2.0. My Rubi offroaded fine with 39’s and 4.10’s. Granted, I only did some basic stuff. It wasn’t the apocalypse the forums sometimes suggest it would be.

I run 35s and 4.88 gears and truly love it. This was an upgrade on 3.73s on a Sport. I also have a 4link and a 3.5inch lift, upgraded front axle and ARB air lockers. Regardless the re-gear improved mileage, power and overall driveability

"trading in" will cost you a lot more than regearing.

But if you need an "excuse" to upgrade to a Rubicon. Go for it. You get a lot more than just the lower gearing. 4.10s might still not feel "adequate" for you though.
The 2.0 makes more torque in the lower RPM range than the 3.6. It does better with 4.10s than the 3.6.

I tend to recommend that people go "one higher" with the 3.6. With 35s, that means 4.56 is "adequate" and 4.88s are better.

The automatic tends to mask the inadequacy of the gears and some people run big tires with too tall (lower number) gears and don't realize what's wrong with their setup. But if you know what you're doing and pay attention, you can see the problem. If you don't, I guess "ignorance is bliss".

This… especially the last part about ignorance being a bliss. See if there are any local Jeepers near where you live who would let you drive their set-up at one of the target combinations to get a sense of what it would be like.

I have a 2021 Willy’s 2.0 with 35’s and stock gearing and have zero issue driving. Still get about 21 mpg and have no issue hitting 8th gear on highway. My buddy has a JLUR with stock 4.10 gearing 37’s and the 2.0 and is amazing to drive. I will upgrade gearing when I move to 37’s

I’m having 4.88 installed in my wife’s rubicon and taking out the 4.11 and will sell them cheap if you want them. 9k miles on them 360.00 for the front and rear gears.

Based on my research, I'm going to go with 4.88s probably next year. My Rubicon (with 4.10s obviously) is stock right now but I'm going with a 3.5" lift and 37s. I see tons of people running 35s with 4.10s and saying they keep 8th gear. I think I'll want the extra torque and I don't need to go 99mph in a Jeep Wrangler.

sounds great but they won’t work in my jeep as it has different axles
