bfg km3 mudWhat kind of 37s?
The 2.0 makes more torque in the lower RPM range than the 3.6. It does better with 4.10s than the 3.6."trading in" will cost you a lot more than regearing.
But if you need an "excuse" to upgrade to a Rubicon. Go for it. You get a lot more than just the lower gearing. 4.10s might still not feel "adequate" for you though.
This… especially the last part about ignorance being a bliss. See if there are any local Jeepers near where you live who would let you drive their set-up at one of the target combinations to get a sense of what it would be like. The 2.0 makes more torque in the lower RPM range than the 3.6. It does better with 4.10s than the 3.6.
I tend to recommend that people go "one higher" with the 3.6. With 35s, that means 4.56 is "adequate" and 4.88s are better.
The automatic tends to mask the inadequacy of the gears and some people run big tires with too tall (lower number) gears and don't realize what's wrong with their setup. But if you know what you're doing and pay attention, you can see the problem. If you don't, I guess "ignorance is bliss".
If only it was available for two doors..Order a Rubicon Xtreme Recon, comes with 35’s and 4.56 gears from the factory
sounds great but they won’t work in my jeep as it has different axlesI’m having 4.88 installed in my wife’s rubicon and taking out the 4.11 and will sell them cheap if you want them. 9k miles on them 360.00 for the front and rear gears.
