This is true, but the mounting is even more difficult because there is no bolt plate like the M.O.R.E.. Instead there are just two separate loose bolts, meaning its that much harder to mount the damn thing!
Maybe I am misunderstanding your post. . . but your kit (like the one I got from Amazon) had the two longish bolts separate and not attached to a plate? If so, you got short changed. The kit I received matches the pics on the Amazon listing and I've attached the image showing the bolts / plate as one unit. I can see how having just two loose bolts would add another PITA factor to the install. . .

I got a different, but otherwise identical kit from Amazon. The differences being that the foot rest part is just 3 simple laser cut slots instead of a Wrangler grill depiction. Yes, two bolts instead of bolts on a bolt plate. Base on this, I would not recommend it as an already difficult installation is now insanely difficult. Going to need my 10 year old son to give me a hand because really impossible unless you are an octopus.

I should have got same the $22 one you got instead of the $35 one I purchased!

AVOID!!!

I see the one you got. That would be no fun to install. The $22 buck one look exactly like M.O.R.E. but the laser cut design on the pedal.

Just ordered the one mentioned in the initial post from Amazon, not a small guy and installing my tazer JL mini was a challenge so this should be interesting. I'll post back how it goes/looks when done.

If you follow my suggestions for contorting your body to fit into the footwell space, you'll do fine! Kidding aside, I'm 6' and it was a challenge, but obviously can be done without too much pain if you go easy and have some flexibility. Prep yourself by diving in headfirst now to get a peek at the existing mounting plate that you'll be friends with soon. Good luck!

On my install I was able to kneel down on one knee with the door open and reach in with my right arm and do the install fairly easy. After pushing the studs thru the backside of the side panel i let the plate "hang" there while I grabbed one of those black binder clips and used that to hold the plate while I mounted the pedal and placed the washers and started the nuts by hand. Then I removed the clip and tightened them down with a wrench. Ive had my Jeep for about 8 months and not having a dead pedal hasn't really bothered me too much even though I thought it was odd that it didnt have something but after a trip this weekend where I drove about 4 hours each way and a few days around town this may be my favorite cheap mod so far

Finally got around to installing this tonight. was a bit of a pain due to my size and lack of flexibility but once I got the studs in the back and used a tension clip to hold it, it only took a little bit of swearing to get it lined up and in. Couldn't get my socket around the nut closest to the pedal (i used the furthest setting) but pried it a bit with a screwdriver so the socket would fit. I tightened a bunch, never felt "tight" as in wouldn't turn anymore but didn't want to strip or break it so once it was in enough I stopped. Seemed real sturdy and didn't realize how much I missed a dead pedal until I sat in it! Curious if anyone else had the same experience. Now just hoping it stays tight!

Kinda bothered me that the Seven Sparta is a knockoff, but there would be no way I'd spend over $50 for something like this. I was surprised at the heft and quality of this one! Powder coat is heavy and textured. Yes, it was a total PITA to install, and it came with double stick tape to holdthe bolt bracket in (that didn't work for some reason) I ended up using a couple of tic tac boxes to block it from behind. $22 well spent for the comfort!

Just ordered from Amazon... looks like the updated version has double stick tape to keep the bracket during installation.

Here's another one that I purchased. It is very sturdy and well built - quite heavy. Love the red aluminum finish and rubber grip studs.

Take note, the red color has a slight pink hue. Here's a pic on how it contrasts with the red dash on a JLUR.

Although the seller lists this as fitting the JL, it is not a direct fit. The holes on the bracket in the footwell do not align easily with the ones on the pedal bracket. Secondly, it does not come with nuts and bolts. I ended up hunting for a them at Home Depot. Having said that, it could be installed, only if someone can freaking get their hands around the back side of the bracket.

After contorting my body into weird shapes, I finally gave up on this dead pedal install. You really need to have octopus hands and a flexible spine, to make this happen.

Now, has anyone explored removing the interior side panel just underneath the mounting bracket for easier access and install? If that could be done, this dead pedal would look sweet.

This was my first mod and my this is my first post. The metal is thicker than I thought it would be. I installed the pedal in the middle slot. Which was a contorting nightmare. I took a short drive to grab some food and it took a little getting used to it. Almost felt like I was back in a manual transmission. Had the urge to press down on it and I even put my hand on the shifter. I think putting it in the furthest position would be the easiest install. I am not sure I like it in the middle position so I may move it. Money well spent.

During install, I over-torqued the last two nuts and stripped the bolts. Whups. Removed old bolts, relaxed with stainless, reinstalled. So, unless you like to do the twist multiple times, make sure you don't crank down on those.

I ordered the updated version of the one in the initial post and installed it today. Other than loosing one of the lock washers back behind the plastic trim the install went pretty easy. Like others have said trying to squeeze yourself down into such a small place is a bit of a challenge, but the rest is pretty straight forward. I installed it with the position closest to the firewall which works just fine for me as I’m 6’1”.
