If you're doing AEV, don't do control arms, it completely defeats the purpose of the AEV kit. Switching your control arms instead of using their lowering brackets will result in a harsher ride and a hair more flex in the extreme offroad (which my experience most people don't do that are interested in the AEV kits).
Or do what I did, Mopar LCA, and the AEV brackets. It drives far better than stock did.

Hi all, working towards a purchase of 285/75R17 KO2 on my stock 2018 JLU Sport S. Hoping to also add an AEV 2.5IN DUALSPORT RT lift (might opt for the AEV 2" spacers, though). Anyone have pics of the AEV 2.5" lift or AEV 2" spacer kit with 285/75R17?
I went with the AEV 2ā€ body lift and AEV geometry correction brackets. Since the MOAB comes with a rubicon suspension I wanted to leave the suspension but gain the lift. I am 100 percent happy with it. (Before/After Picts below).

Thanks. That's what I thought you would say. Unfortunately, my OCD will force me to get the axles centered. I tried letting this go on a different vehicle and just couldn't do it. I ended up getting track bars for that vehicle as well. So, I will just plan on getting track bars. Thanks, man.
I had the lift installed a couple months ago.
love the way it drives. Only thing I added was Front adj track bar.Brackets r included for rear so no need for rear adj track bar.
off road tracked well (nothing serious so far) n on road was way better than stock. Drives great on high way. Find myself driving faster than before bc it feels more stable šŸ˜ even in windy situations. Donā€™t get me wrong can still feel wind pushing me but much more planted. I can imagine geo brackets might touch rock more often but those situations account for maybe 2% of my miles. They r sturdy and Iā€™m sure can take a scrap here n there so worth it to me.

Well it is amazing the RT kit but you need proffessional installation so that your acle doesnot shift to the left ..285 will be small for the lift kit .

Had the 2.5 inch dualsport and JKS adjustable front track bar installed last week by a local 4x4 shop (yes the shame on me not doing it).

Shop was impressed by the quality of the components. Without added weight it certainly nets more along 3"-3.5" of actual lift versus the advertised 2.5". I'm running stock wheels (no spacers) with 35x12.5 KO2s. I have no issues with rubbing under articulation or at full lock.

Overall pretty happy with the lift so far.

I have purchased the AEV 2.5 Dual Sport kit. We just bought this 21 JLUR and it is my 8th Jeep. I have owned a 84 CJ7 Renegade, 88 YJ Wrangler Sport, 89 YJ Wrangler Sahara, 92 YJ Wrangler Sport, (all bought new).
01 TJ Wrangler Sahara, 89 Wrangler TJ (project), 14 JK Wrangler Sport, 21 JKUR Wrangler.

I bought this 21 JKU in Feb and have installed the following:
SmittyBilt Rock Slider / Steps
SmittyBilt SRC Gen 2 Front and Rear Bumpers
SmittyBilt SRC Gen 3 9.5K Winch

Within a few days I will install the AEV lift, 17 x 9 Fuel Assaults, 35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers and update the thread with some photos and remarks.

I enjoyed reading all the comments on the lift so far.

I installed the AEV 2.5 DS lift last week along with a DV8 Roof Rack. The install was easy and the ride is very firm, but I'm OK with that. Since the install I drove the JL from TN to NV with no problems. The gas mileage suffers a bit over 60 MPH. I may re-gear while I'm in California on a work trip.

To be fair, I never drove it with only the AEV. Everything went on at once. I did it on the advice of a local guy who works at a dealer and has also been building Jeeps for 20 years and helps tons of people. Pretty sure he said the arms made it hit 6 degrees of caster almost exactly. I will say it drives better than it did stock. I personally attribute that to the rubi starting a little taller so probably being farther out of spec than a sport or sahara from the factory.

I installed the 2.5 AEV Dualsport lift last weekend. Fuel Kicker 5s with 37 KO2s. Definitley not a 5-6 hour job per instructions, but I did it myself. Ride: seems a little floaty, but that might just be a result of a lifted jeep. Soaks up bumps way better than the stock suspension. Overall I am happy with it!

Love the wheels. Ordered the same to go with 35ā€ Ridge Grapplers.

That's becaue the 2.5" AEV lift is more like a 3.5" according to Trail Recons video.
I'm newbie in jeep and live outside US ... so admire US spec rubicon shows much strong than overseas rubi....
If 2.5" AEV lift is more like a 3.5", is it needed to change drive shaft?
