I must have a deficiency... I added Tazer this weekend to my 22 JLUR and no matter how close I follow the instructions... every time I marry the Tazer I end up with a CEL. I unmarry the Tazer and have to manually clear the CEL. Its not the most user-friendly device.

Hello, I have a question I have a 22' JL 2 door V6 8 speed Automatic, and I recently did a lift kit of 3" and 33" tires. I noticed that the jeep is not changing gears how it should from 4 to 5 my RPMs go to 3.5 and it will not go into 8th gear. I wanted to know if a tazer like a Z Automotive programming tazer would fix the issue. The dealership wants to charge $350 just to do gears but a tazer can do much more for about the same price. Can anyone let me know if they liked the Tazer and if they recommend it. thank you
I’ve owned the Tazer for the past 5 years and I highly recommend it…. However, Jscan does a good job as well…I think the Tazer is the better choice if you own a Rubi due to being able to hack the electronic swaybar, lockers, etc….

a Tazer will help you correct what is displayed on your Speedo (and help with many other things).
whether or not the transmission uses any info from what is displayed on the Speedo is a topic of some debate.

gears will correct your shifting. if your dealer would do gears for $350 (even if that's per axle!), i'd say go for it! but i'll bet that price is a mistake, ans the parts alone cost more than that.

There is no way anyone is doing gears for 350.

This. Being able to lock the rear differential in 2H has come in handy a time or two.

Read the box carefully before using.. Especially the big red letters on the inside of the box lid.

Kept me from using it. :like:

I bought a new mini and checked its firmware with the Tazer JL utility. It had an older version that was from 2022. The new version was made this year and corrects a lot of past issues. Update the firmware and follow installation instructions.

Just my 2cents when I went up to 33’s I hardly ever saw 8th gear anymore unless I was cruisiing less then 70mph. I only got a flash call to correct my speed.
