Adding a Tazer

Hello, I have a question I have a 22' JL 2 door V6 8 speed Automatic, and I recently did a lift kit of 3" and 33" tires. I noticed that the jeep is not changing gears how it should from 4 to 5 my RPMs go to 3.5 and it will not go into 8th gear. I wanted to know if a tazer like a Z Automotive programming tazer would fix the issue. The dealership wants to charge $350 just to do gears but a tazer can do much more for about the same price. Can anyone let me know if they liked the Tazer and if they recommend it. thank you

JScan might be the better route. To me the only feature that JScan can’t do that’s valuable is disabling auto start/stop (easily).

There are features the mini does that make it easy to perform while driving... and a few more jscan does not do... like security lock, and window roll up/down when locking / unlocking doors. The lite version, jscan can do as given in previous reply

I have a tazer and use a decent number of its features. I haven't changed tire sizes yet, but the tazer will adjust the speedometer and shift points for the changes you made. It's very easy to use once you get the hand of going though the settings. It's also nice being able to set the jeep back to factory (the tazer saves your settings) for when you bring it into the dealership. No idea if the Jscan does that.

Edit: Looking into it, they both can give access to using the hood alarm which is a GREAT security measure. Why Jeep doesn't have it from the factory truly baffles me.

The tazer does onetouch windows and key fob windrow control!?

Very good information am going to look at those brands too some of the important things I do want to control is

*hood alarm
*3 hooks when leaving the car on
*tire size
*gear ration
*start/stop so fucking annoying
*and I just saw that z automotive has a code sequence that has to be inputted before driving I love this because I live next to the Mexican boarder and its more protection to prevent theft.

Don't forget about the Tazer's ability to increase how fast you can go with your sway bar disabled (for Rubicons), turn assist, being able to use HomeLink for a while after turning off the Jeep, etc.

i cant get J-scan to work for crap on my jeep.. Ended up just using the Tazer

I wasn’t aware of the HomeLink option. I don’t know what the heck Jeep was thinking setting it up the way they did. One more reason to add the Tazer to the wish list.

Having it shut off with the vehicle makes sense from a safety perspective. Every other vehicle I've owned does that. Tazer lets you make that decision yourself with the option of keeping it alive for a bit based on a timer.

Agreed. My Challenger is on all the time, which I thought was stupid. On the other hand, having it on for 30 seconds after shutting off is much better than shutting off immediately with the key. They keep the headlights on for a set time after shutdown, why not the Homelink as well?
