OK so I've owned my jeep now for just about 2 months and the more I own it, learn about it, and drive it the more I like it. Ive owned many vehicles, but this is literally the exact opposite in terms of the experience.

With this jeep I actually sort of regretted buying it at first. I thought I got suckered into the styling over function or utility. Started looking at resale value and wanting a ridgeline which was my other consideration at the time. This was in the first 2 weeks of ownership.

This is my second new vehicle. I bought the first one well over a decade ago and was on that forum too at the time - it was basically nothing but posts coping with the problems. I still own it. Here though most of the problems are not just almost celebrated (its a jeep thing, put a duck on it and keep driving) but people actually try to help solve them....so they aren't jeep things? whatever. A whole different approach and attitude is my point and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this personally.

I love my jeep.

I started driving in the early 70’s bought my first new vehicle in 1977 and have probably owned 50 new vehicles including 5 new wranglers and while i get bored with vehicles pretty fast it is always fun to move on to the next one.

Yes, I have the same thoughts.
Jeeps have personality, it's not just a vehicle.

Originally when I was looking for a 4x4, I was heavily leaning towards the 4runner trail edition. But I decided to test drive other vehicles that are 4x4 and have enough space for my 2 dogs and camping gear.
Tacoma, 4runner, xterra, frontier, and wrangler.

Instantly fell in love with the Wrangler, and the icing on the cake was being able to remove the doors and tops.

My good friend has the 4runner (rear locker) and it is a capable vehicle, but nowhere near my wrangler.

The vast majority of owners are happy. Forums tend to attract outliers: no offense to their membership or the forum's existence. But fanboys (guilty) and legitimately troubled owners, and gripers tend to be more stereotypical than mere middle of the roader Wrangler owners--at least when it comes to posting. :)

I never really cared for the Wranglers. Bought/ordered our first Jeep Wrangler in MY22 for my wife. Fell in love with it. It turned into my daily driver. Ordered a MY24 last year for my wife. We are a very happy two Jeep Wrangler Rubicon family.

I enjoy the game of buying a new vehicle and driving away with my new prize for making the best deal I can.

I'm glad you're enjoying your new jeep buddy, this is my 3rd jeep and I'm really enjoying it myself.

I have always owned Toyotas, and have done a lot of off road miles in several 5th gen 4Runners.

I always thought Jeeps were piles of shit, but at some point not too long ago, I just got bored with my 4Runner and began craving a more visceral experience. I decided I could always sell the JLU if I bought one and it actually was a pile, so I pulled the trigger on a manual Sport S.

So far I am very smitten, more so than with my 4Runners. It's playful, and fun, and has character in a way the Toyotas didn't.

Now having said that if there are any reliability issues (meaning: leaves me stranded) then it's gone and I'll migrate to a new Land Cruiser most likely... but I certainly hope it keeps on keeping on for a while because I am having fun with it.

So I get you, OP.

Glad you love it. I think you know pretty quickly if it's for you or not. Glad we didn't lose you to the Ridgeline. Sorry, but, NO! I don't get those things. I want an Accord but with a bed?
