At more than $20 a quart (including shipping costs), they should be able to afford whatever is needed to obtain approvals/certifications IF they wanted to. Irrelevant from my perspective...it makes no sense to use this oil.

For example:

Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 = $5.60 per QT (without tax), will not poison your catalytic converter, and has these approvals:
MB-Approval 229.31
MB-Approval 229.51
MB-Approval 229.52
Porsche C30
VW 504 00
VW 507 00

and meets or exceeds:

API SL
ACEA C3
API SN Engine Test Requirements
API SN PLUS ENGINE TEST REQUIREMENTS
API SP ENGINE TEST REQUIREMENTS
API SQ Engine Test Requirements

HPL Super Car 0W-20 = $16.80 per QT (without tax/shipping), will poison your catalytic converter, and has these approvals:
<none>

and meets or exceeds:

VW 502 00/505 00
ACEA A3/B4
API SL
Daimler MB 229.3/229.5
Renault RN0700/0710
Volvo 95200356

Which one makes more sense to use in a passenger car or light truck?
Mobil 1 🤩👍

Why it doesn't have API Starburst?

I believe it's on the back. I will have to check one of the bottles I have on the shelf in the garage, but all the certs are listed on the back of the bottle.

This one has the Startburst and ILSAC GF-6A too. Not crazy thick, only 10.5 🤩👍

Why it doesn't have API Starburst?
Because it is a European oil and uses ACEA instead. Like other European oils, with regards to API, it states:

This product meets or exceeds the requirements of:

API SL
API SN Engine Test Requirements
API SN PLUS ENGINE TEST REQUIREMENTS
API SP ENGINE TEST REQUIREMENTS
API SQ Engine Test Requirements

Given the actual approvals that it has:

MB-Approval 229.31
MB-Approval 229.51
Porsche C30
VW 504 00
VW 507 00

There is no question that it does.

So you’re saying that the 0-30 European is what I should be changing my oil with…

5,000 miles be sufficient?

You should be listening to your owner's manual and not the oil experts on this forum what is the correct oil for your particular Jeep.

No one is saying that. The conversation has been about oil and approvals/certifications. Everyone needs to make their own decisions about oil.

All I know is that I tried 12.2 thick oil once and the thing took a whopping 35 minutes to completely get to the oil pan so that I could get a full reading on both sides of the dipstick, compared to PUP 0W20's 17 minutes. I tried that twice on two more level surfaces to make sure and same result. I freaked out and immediately drained it out. My engine runs so hot already and 12.2 thick oil is too slow to transfer the heat away fast. Oil is also used for cooling the engine. I fear slow cooling will kill my Pentastar's head in the long term. ESP 0W30 is too thick, and ESP 0W20 too thin(Only 7.9). PUP 0W20 and Mobil 1 EP 0W20 are 8.8. A 9.5 thick oil will be sweet for my Pentastar but such oil doesn't exist ☹

Not exactly correct; it means that with the levels of zinc and calcium they cannot obtain API SM/SN/SN+/SP approval, but there are older approvals that can be obtained such as API SL or similar that are typically used in older engines that require those levels of zinc and calcium such as a few of the racing oils on the market--which would give some level of confidence. It also would not prevent them from obtaining other certifications from OEMs particularly since the name of the oil is "Super Car".

In the end, they are asking you to trust them with zero third party verification and/or via word of mouth as a form of record their oil is good and it may well be, but no way would I pay that for it.

However, given the zinc and phosphorus levels of this oil--no one should be using it long term in any vehicle that has a catalytic converter.

I agree with your statement. Maybe we should change the oil way more frequently instead. In my case I have decided 2000 miles. PUP 0W20 every 2000 miles, at 2000 miles it shouldn't shear from 8.8 to 8.0. Also, I recently learned that 5W30's "5W" becomes 10W with use, that's scary.

I have a line on buying into a bridge in New York if you're interested...
