Hows that 2.0T running with 40s? Stock gearing? Great looking jeep. I'm envious. My thoughts exactly. They look big until about a week after they're mounted.

The 2.0's low and mid range torque does great with the 40's. Even with the stock gearing, it still handles them fine enough to not be an annoyance during daily driver duty. And offroad, it crawls 6 and 7 rated trails with ease.Hows that 2.0T running with 40s? Stock gearing? Great looking jeep. I'm envious.
I don't blame you for avoiding the regear, redundant to regear and then change axles.... just wondered how the daily was with 40s and a 2.0t, glad to hear its treating you well. I will not ask your MPG, I assume that's the wrong question and it doesn't really matter. The 2.0's low and mid range torque does great with the 40's. I'm trying to avoid a regear for as long as possible, because eventually I want to swap in a larger set of axles.
Yup, if you can drop $2-3k on a set of wheels and tires for fun, then your fuel economy doesn't REALLY matter now does it? ?I don't blame you for avoiding the regear, redundant to regear and then change axles.... just wondered how the daily was with 40s and a 2.0t, glad to hear its treating you well. Call it whatever, morbid curiosity, participating in my own abuse. no good reason for me to calculate mine, but I do. My brothers 1996 TJ (maybe 97) with 37s got around 11 on the highway on a good day and as long as I'm above that i feel like I'm winning.Yup, if you can drop $2-3k on a set of wheels and tires for fun, then your fuel economy doesn't REALLY matter now does it? ?
I'm a full disclosure type of guy, so I don't mind sharing. I've never been inclined enough to hand calculate, but the Jeep says I'm averaging 17.9 mpg. That's with over 90% stop and go miles. On a recent road trip to Tennessee, I was seeing as high as about 22 mpg. That was loaded out with my wife and 3+ weeks of gear and baggage, and acc set to 80 mph.I don't blame you for avoiding the regear, redundant to regear and then change axles.... just wondered how the daily was with 40s and a 2.0t, glad to hear its treating you well.
