Not to thread hijack and we can move it to DM - but did you change 3 times just because you wanted a different look or was the wrap wearing and needed to be replaced? I've had mine two years, but it is garage kept and only used for trails / camping so low miles (6K)... Hoping I get many years out of the product.

No issues at all with the wrap.

And yes it was just because I wanted to change the color. lol

My buddy owned the wrap shop, so he would just charge me for the material. He did take the vehicle to some shows here and there tho. Wish his shop was here in the US also! lol The Jeep would've been wrapped already.

I have a 23 XR that is currently on 37's. I would like to go to 38's. Wheels are Kmc tank, -38 offset.

What lift without going insane with cost should I look into? Jeep is not my primary and only sees some off road as I have a can am to beat on..

Thnx

I daily drive, rock crawl and rip sand on 38" Falken RTs with a 3.5" lift with no problems. I 'm running Dirty Life beadlocks with a -38 as well. However I also completely removed the fenders and liners and replaced them with KBD fenders and Motobilt liners. I am also running 2.5 ton RPM Steering tierod, draglink and trackbars. We also pulled the steering box and ported it and added a PSC ram so I have have hydro assist.
Ditch your spare because that will be a lot of weight dangling from the rear. I'm running fully adjustable MC arms and Teraflex dual rate springs. Also still running 4.10 gears which I know is frowned upon but I don't have 2k laying around to re-gear yet.

So my next thing is brakes. Are you all running stock brakes?
The stock brakes work great and are more than adequate. On my 2019 Rubicon that had 39 inch tires I replaced them with the Teraflex ones and they were nothing but trouble. They never worked right. They couldn't even lock up the tires where the stock ones could. I would spend your money somewhere else and just put some good pads on it when it comes time.

Just my opinion...

I am running 38x12.5 Ridge grapplers on 3.5" Rock Crawler springs and sway bar end links, Fox shocks, Clayton control arms and track bars, metal cloak bump stops. Up that much, you need to replace front drive shaft otherwise the factory shaft WILL come apart at some point with minor down travel. I have Tom Woods front but plan on a front if you go up that much.

Not exactly sure what "off road" means for you - but if you're doing minor trails, some moderate climbing/etc.... honestly I'd just go with a spacer lift and some shock extensions and you've got a fun rig, not a lot of other changes.

Teraflex 1.5" spacer - 1165200 - About 190 bucks
Teraflex 2" shock extensions - 1985200 - About 125 bucks

You may need to get some longer sway bar end links, but might be ok, just watch the angle. The Hydro Blue below is on a 2.5 inch spacer lift with 37 KM3's and rides exceptionally well and has run a ton of trails successfully (6 badge of honor trails).

You don't need to get an entire front drive shaft. Teraflex makes a high angle rezeppa joint that you can swap out the factory one for and run 3.5" without a problem.

Unless they just came out with it, that's not correct - I talked with the folks at Teraflex about 3 months ago and the Rzeppa replacement is a like-for-like with the factory JL Rzeppa. It does not give any extra wiggle room.

Is there a new part number from Teraflex? I would love to have an Rzeppa front driveshaft again to get rid of some of the driveline vibration since we have no FAD.

Been running it with no problems at all for well over a year now. I can completely droop the axle either side or both with no problems at all. It's on my daily that I also rock crawl with.

I called Teraflex well over a year ago and they said they had just come out with it. Don't know why who you talked to was clueless.

Thanks for the testimonial - That's the one I discussed with Teraflex support. I may have to give it a try. We have nuked two front drive shafts on our other 392's with only 2.5 inches of lift but I have not tried to rebuild one with this kit. I will order one and swap out with a bad one I have and see how it does.

I nuked two rubber boots around the rezeppa so I called Teraflex and they sold me this and I've had zero issues so far.

Replaced our factory Rzeppa with the Teraflex kit today. It definitely does NOT look like the item they list on the website. It is identical to the factory assembly I swapped with a few very small exceptions I noticed.

Here's a picture of the boot side that was in the kit.

Exact same dimensions for both old and new. Color/Coating of the boot-side and cap is different.

If you look closely at Teraflex's website, it looks to me that they just copied and pasted the JK Rzeppa content over to the JL/JT variant. I am not convinced this will give any advantage over factory - but it was very straight forward to swap out. I'll be optimistic that this one will last longer, but nice to have it as an option to swap if/when we blow up another. :)

Would love if there's a Teraflex rep on the site that could weigh in....

Others experience may differ - posting my experience for reference.

it’s hard to tell much difference, but since first picture I added full drawers, fridge, belly skids, etc and decide to go upgrade to MC 4.5” in front and 5.5” in the rear for added weight and soon to be 40’s.

That's really odd, I would reach out to them and talk with there tech line. Anytime I have done that they have remedied any issues I've had. I replaced mine well over a year ago and it was clearly different than the factory one. I was ripping factory ones within a few months after I lifted and after tearing the second one I went with the Teraflex version and haven't had a problem since.

Same wheels w Nitto 38 x 13.5". Went with full Rock Krawler kit with 3.5" lift and midarms.

Don't forget you'll likely need a tailgate reinforcement! Tires are heavy!

What is your backspacing on those wheels? I have a Rockkrawler 3.5 inch lift, same tires, -10 mm offset, 4.36” backspace, and I’m rubbing my front lower control arms at full turn.
