The reason the video jiggles a bit is because someone is filming a computer screen that is running the video on it. You can see the Windows logo at the bottom of the clip at the beginning and a bit if the monitor near the end.

That makes me believe it was a mounted camera and the pulled the memory card to watch it on a computer at home.

What do you think caused this? I had a Pedal Commander start accelerating on me recently it was crazy! All of a sudden the check engine light came on and the Jeep started accelerating. I had to throw it in neutral and hit the brakes. I removed it right then and there. Not saying that is what happened here though. If this is a repost, my bad just delete it.

So, what DID happen in this video, then? Or, what link is its source?

I have to wonder how much a Jeep Rubicon 392 cost is China? While in Poland we stopped at a Jeep dealer and the price in Polish currency once converted by XE.COM (Excellent site) the price was the same as a Jeep in America. No wide tires on the Rubicon and limited accessories.
Having family over there and knowing a little about the pay scale the Jeep cost as much as a prefab summer home, no kidding

This was 2 miles from my house.... facts aren't quite right. Driver was the CHP Officer. Passengers were his wife, juvenile daughter, and brother in law who was not CHP. The BIL is the party on the released 911 call.

It's people like this that give the Jeep Community a bad name. He's lucky he didn't flip when he was up on the mountain! These are not razors or side by sides. When you drive them like they are this is what happens. Until he crashed I'm sure others would have followed and done the same idiotic dangerous hillside maneuver. Proving nothing. Wish they all would have bought Broncos instead.

I never understood why the driver, a California Highway Patrol officer, and his brother in law and another occupant (also CHP)—who spent their careers in automobiles—did not think to put the Lexus in N and let the engine RPMs be damned. Unfortunately this Jeep driver also did not think to put it in N after he was 180 deg. from his intended direction. Jeeps can be repaired/replaced, but three lives were nearly lost here.

BTW, the Jeep to the left has a Rhino Rack wrap across it, FWIW.

I had an unintended acceleration event with the dealer loaner Nissan Versa. My right foot was stronger than the Versa engine. I reached for the transmission. Was going to hit Park . Long straightaway exit. Was hoping to grenade the transmission to execute an immediate stop. Acceleration event ended as my hand reached transmission control. One less Versa in the world not a terrible thing. Had it been a higher powered Lexus not sure how I would've handled it. Versa was covering for then new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that eventually was Lemon Law'd.

A point or two of my thoughts. Not putting anything to screw around with the throttle controls in my Jeep. I've had a "run away" with my Wrangler (and a few other vehicles in past) not a electric control later model. Not fun I turned off with the key (reason I don't like push button start / stop) what created the problem the mass air flow sensor and TPS were bad. Two fixes I did replaced them and added additional throttle return springs. Not a Jeep fault, I've got over 250000 miles on it. By the way if you turn off a 4.0 at W.O.T. the turn key back on it may start back at W.O.T.. That was with clutch engaged.
Throwing it in neutral isn't always possible with electronic controlled vehicles AKA: shift by wire. A reason why I don't like push button 4 WD is another weak link for a 4x4 vehicles so not likely for me to ever buy a Chevy or Ford, at least for now.

Interestingly, tik-tok is not a thing in China. I am not sure if it's actually blocked or not since I never tried it there.
Everyone only uses WeChat...... for everthing.
Paying for something? Wechat. Ordering online? Wechat. Maps? Wechat. phone calls, social media..Well you get the idea.
Point is, tikitok has zero Chinese presence.
I found the video on posted on WeChat, but there is no other information except that the driver lost control and hit the other cars.

Another possibility is that the owner put a kid or inexperienced driver behind the wheel and gave poor instruction from the passenger seat. I’ve seen that done with disastrous results before.

We’ll probably never know since that is a foreign video and no explanation was provided.

Two things:

1.) The driver was probably Benoit.

2.) 4XE sure is a ticking time bomb.
