About 15 years ago, there was a guy who suffered a heart attack in an Albertsons parking lot near me. He lost control of the car and wound up damaging like a dozen other cars in the lot. Finished the incident by just driving around in a circle, hitting cars until one impact finally knocked his foot off the gas pedal.

Some crazy stuff happens when people suffer cardiac events behind the wheel. That’s still my bet for what happened here.

Speaking of which... there is a person filming this (not a passive dashcam). You can tell by how the camera moves. They film that Jeep coming right at them and making that head-on collision and never flinch even as their entire Jeep is being driven backward by the impact.
This is a video of a video... that's the OP moving as he records his computer screen. You can see the dashcam stamp with GPS speedometer in the upper right.

Maybe he did not realize that a dusting of snow on top of frozen ground and maybe even ice is something not to be played with. I wish there was more information on it. Still why not parking brake or neutral or even hit the brakes? If it was the pedal just throw in in neutral and hit the stop button. Like I said before in neutral and let a over revved engine blow up would be cheaper to replace than all of the damage done

Gale Banks is not only a genuis engineer he is also an accomplished driver and has won many events over his 50 years in the performance market.

Any product with his name on it is bulletproof! I had a number of his products in my last 2500HD Silverado Duramax. Spectacular at the least!

For someone to even suggest he was driving the Jeep, your a total nimrod (and probably bought a pedal commander)lol

I and my brother owned a Checkmate boat with a Gail Banks Twin Turbo and this was back in the late 70`s early 80`s. I had a Bob Teague Marine motor in my Baja and others I know we’re blessed to have a Lingenfelter engines in their street cars. Like the Mickey Thompson was to suspension and racing these few were the of gurus of motors for street and marine

I just checked the video out and definitely European model Jeeps, rear bumper ridges in stepwell and reflectors way out on the bumper too. 392 looks like it has a satin wrap on it? The only larger blue overseas plate I could find that might match is a China plate it’s wider and not as long as others. Someone out there has to know
or did I just miss it written somewhere as usual?

That lesson I learned 40 plus years ago while using a single throttle return spring on my 340 Challenger
My throttle return spring broke on my 81 Z28 back in high school while my girlfriend and I were heading home from a date. Not a fun scenario for sure but even at that age I had the common sense to throw it in neutral and turn the key back a notch! I rigged a spring using her hair scrunchy and got us home, lol.

What do you think caused this? I had a Pedal Commander start accelerating on me recently it was crazy! All of a sudden the check engine light came on and the Jeep started accelerating. I had to throw it in neutral and hit the brakes. I removed it right then and there. Not saying that is what happened here though. If this is a repost, my bad just delete it.

Looks like he should have had a better roof rack mount. Was that a Rhino Rack?

I always thought it was crazy to use a spring to return a throttle to the closed position. I think the spring should be rigged to OPEN the throttle and if it breaks the throttle should slam shut. Would make so much more sense but it would cost more to rig so no automaker ever did it.

Looks like a simple case of poor driving to me. If you crash in to my parked jeep you're at fault period. Your insurance still pays. That subject has been beat to death. About the only exclusion written into most policies is competition/racing. You're still covered on dirt roads/ trails. There are numerous posters who rolled their vehicles wheeling and not only was the vehicle covered, the insurance company paid for the vehicle recovery.
Hopefully they don't have State Farm Ins.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
Just a guy driving on a slick surface at full speed. He wasn't able to stop.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
There should be a clear shot of the driver at the end of the video but you can't see who's behind the wheel. I can't tell if it's smoke inside the cabin or if it's been intentionally obscured... If I had to guess I'd say it's either:

A.) Intentional.
2.) The driver was experiencing a medical emergency of some kind.
It looks like the airbags deployed and that is why you can't see the driver.
